And there goes any chance of me ever joining the Labour Party, or volunteering, or donating. Stalinist purges just aren't my thing.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/01/2018 09:22

Bump.

On the matter of self-ID as BAME or disabled, isn't that just a rather poor way of saying self-declare? You wouldn't ask for any sort of official confirmation of someone being black or having a disability on a membership application, would you?

Fekko · 24/01/2018 09:22

who should this be reported to? Jesus, it’s like communist Russia - spying on each other and ‘compiling lists’. Very sinister. The Labour Party needs to act now.

AngryAttackKittens · 24/01/2018 09:26

Next up, the Maoist show trial! The Cultural Revolution comparisons are getting a bit stark what with all the excitable young people who're awfully keen on the denouncing.

RedToothBrush · 24/01/2018 09:29

What books do we need to buy now before they are banned?

Fekko · 24/01/2018 09:33

I guess it’s more cultural revolution. Big letter posters? Public confessions and denouncents, people beaten to death for stepping out of line, family spying on each other, little red biog waved about (oh hang on...)

AngryAttackKittens · 24/01/2018 09:34

Little Red Blog?

Fekko · 24/01/2018 09:34

Book - my autocorrect is a bit of a bully...

AllMyBestFriendsAreMetalheads · 24/01/2018 09:36

"What books do we need to buy now before they are banned?"

1984?

doctorcuntybollocks · 24/01/2018 09:37

Animal Farm?

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 24/01/2018 09:38

Ha ha, good luck with that.

Looking forward to webcam grabs of Terfs ferociously typing trans hate while breastfeeding their infant and making 4 meals out of one chicken

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/01/2018 09:42

There are Labour staffers working in membership that are involved in that secret Facebook group and some of them are after women on Mumsnet (I guess to dox/add to their hitlist)

Do you mean all of us or just party members? What are they going to do with us when they catch us? Ceremonially cast us out of the Labour party if we are members? Doxx us more publicly? Come after us???

I'm confused by this whole business. :(

I'm just waiting for the trans Year Zero!

BelligerentGardenPixies · 24/01/2018 09:50

Grin Assigned.

I'm happy to be on any list. The chances of me even voting Labour again after this debacle are about the same % as the number of TIM's for whom this women erasing shit show is being put on for, which is not a fucking lot, so excommunicate me all you want from your penis party.

TBF, I can be facetious about it because the worst they can do to me, is get me kicked off the PTA and I've been trying to extricate myself from it for three years so they'd be doing me a favor, but I'm concerned for all of those women who have jobs - this is crazy stuff.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 24/01/2018 10:00

Bring it on. I'd love to see an employer justify dismissing an employee for anonymously posting on mumsnet that she believes people with penises are male following doxxing by a secret genderologist Labour Party Facebook group.

It would be the story of the century. It might just peak trans the entire country.

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 24/01/2018 10:02

I really don't know - I suspect it is limited to labour party members but your guess is as good as mine regarding their motivation - they may be lashing out at everyone who resists their ideology.

I am no longer a party member as of about 8 minutes ago (DD cancelled, card now in about 20 pieces and shitty email sent to my (now ex) CLP), so adding me to some purge list is a waste of their time.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/01/2018 10:04

MNHQ would not hand over our details would they????

RedToothBrush · 24/01/2018 10:08

Could they? MN are subject to data protection...

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 24/01/2018 10:11

They're one of the only organisations in the country that have been willing to stick their necks out over this so I'd be very surprised if they wanted to (thanks mnhq Smile)

Plus I think it would be in breach of data protection law, plus it would be really really bad for their business model.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/01/2018 10:12

Yes ... surely they can only hand over details with a court order...

AngryAttackKittens · 24/01/2018 10:15

Mumsnet HQ would have to be determined to self-sabotage to breach data protection regs, surely. The more likely scenarios are either an attempt at hacking to get that info or a DDOS attack to shut us all up.

RedToothBrush · 24/01/2018 10:16

Good luck obtaining a court order on what is posted here. You'd have to demonstrate the law had been broken before it would be granted.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 24/01/2018 10:20

Unless they're trying to hack mumsnet (not a good look surely) I imagine the worst they can do is try to make connections between people's mn and twitter handles, or identify individuals by collating bits of personal info they've provided in the course of posting.

Sounds a bit thankless to me.

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 24/01/2018 10:25

There's absolutely no indication that MN have anything whatsoever to do with this in the info that I've been given - and considering that they have let these conversations take place with little to no involvement from MNHQ (not that I think this is due to their own personal views on GI, but more taking the stand of impartiality) - I doubt they would even consider it unless forced to by authorities.

I can't believe we're even having this conversation; discussing the possibility of our data being revealed to the powers that be for discussing our concerns over the trans (or TRA I should probably say - I am absolutely not tarring all trans people with the same brush ... love you Miranda Yardley :)) ideology and how it affects women and children. We aren't the ones inciting or carrying out violence for fuck's sake.
