Unless they're trying to hack mumsnet (not a good look surely) I imagine the worst they can do is try to make connections between people's mn and twitter handles, or identify individuals by collating bits of personal info they've provided in the course of posting.

This.

Most posters name change regularly anyway.

I keep mine for a reason which is more important than worrying about that shit (I'd be a very poor choice to dox anyway).

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 24/01/2018 10:26

I think you're right TallulahWaitingInTheRain

facelessvongorgeous · 24/01/2018 10:27

Cuppa, do you mean there's something additional just for mumsnet users?

AngryAttackKittens · 24/01/2018 10:29

I can't believe we're even having this conversation; discussing the possibility of our data being revealed to the powers that be for discussing our concerns over the trans (or TRA I should probably say - I am absolutely not tarring all trans people with the same brush ... love you Miranda Yardley smile) ideology and how it affects women and children. We aren't the ones inciting or carrying out violence for fuck's sake.

If nothing else seeing that dynamic play out should be educational for people who're still on the fence about the whole issue.

Hammerofthetwat · 24/01/2018 10:35

I’m on a MARAC, doxx me, and the police will go after them hard. What can they do? Toss you out of labour? Oh boo hoo. They are throwing you out of a party that treats you like this? That’s not a threat. Don’t listen to silly intimidation.

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 24/01/2018 10:55

facelessvongorgeous

I don't think so, but I honestly don't know. I can ask for some clarification.

Popchyk · 24/01/2018 11:00

Still no official news on AWS, I take it?

What's the hold up?

BarrackerBarmer · 24/01/2018 11:06

Hi Labour staffers in membership!

Some helpful notes on my opinions for your secret list:

Penis is male.
Transwomen are male.
Male cannot become female.
Woman means adult human female.
Females are underrepresented in parliament
Males are over represented
There are too many people with penises
And not enough people with vaginas in parliament
All women shortlists are to increase the proportion of females to males.
Or, to decrease the proportion of penises and increase the proportion of vaginas, if you prefer.
(And, if you are appalled that I need to make genital references, perhaps ponder on what word is now acceptable to refer to people with penises/people with vaginas. If you have a word that refers to people with XX chromosomes and vaginas that we could use let me know, I'll use it.)
And, when the penny drops that it is taboo to refer to those people, can you take a moment to wonder why?
Peehaps the whole point of trans activism is to oppose any reference or rights or fair represention of people with vaginas, to deny them even their name.
Do please then realise that you've colluded with the idea that it is wrong to allow recognition of the largest oppressed group in history.
And while you're at it, could you take a moment to consider that you are actively ensuring that the proportionate representation of people with vaginas is going back down, and penises are once again being over represented and can you give yourselves a little shake?

We don't need more penises. We need an equal number of vaginas.

P.s. transmen should ABSOLUTELY be included on AWS.

Thought that might make your seedy little thought crime list easier to compile. Happy to help.

P.S. I dont 'self identify as a woman' because I'm told that this categorically does NOT mean "I can prove my biological sex is female" I therefore have no identity that you recognise as valid.

I have a vagina and two x chromosomes. Make of that what you will.

Mumsnet isn't a private members only forum, anyone can view our posts.

We already knew they were a bunch of obsessive creeps with a cultish desire to stamp out heresy. We already knew their aversion to scientific reason causes them physical pain when other people don't feel obliged to buy their shit. We already knew they were combing through the posts of heretics and blasphemers? Who fucking cares. Creepers gonna creep.

VivaLeBeaver · 24/01/2018 13:40

They can try and doxx me all they want. Couldn't give a shit if they throw me out the labour party, am leaving anyway. They won't make a connection to my Twitter and even if they did that's totally anonymous. Most they can do is from old posts work out what I do for a job and which city I'm in. Which narrows it down to a few thousand maybe.

VivaLeBeaver · 24/01/2018 13:43

I guess the only danger is if there's a hand maiden in mnhq who would be prepared to break data protection act and hand info over.

I doubt it but even if that happens I've said nothing illegal and stand by it.

Chchchchangeabout · 24/01/2018 14:00

On the announcement, Pink New are saying the stance will be clarified in March. They are also saying: "It is understood that the party’s approach includes not turning away self-identifying trans women from all-women shortlists, though the party has refused repeated requests to explicitly say so."

They have somehow headlined this as Labour having made and declared the decision but whatever.

BarrackerBarmer · 24/01/2018 14:49

Why March? Any explanation?

nauticant · 24/01/2018 14:54

Why March? Any explanation?

"What's the furthest we can kick this down the road without being pulled up for being cowards over this?"

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 24/01/2018 14:58

"What's the furthest we can kick this down the road without being pulled up for being cowards over this?"

The wimmin will be hysterical about something else by then?

nauticant · 24/01/2018 15:00

The flowers will coming be out in March. Women will be distracted by that and thinking about their Summer dresses.

OOAOML · 24/01/2018 15:01

Or those with May council elections will be thinking about who to vote for.

Vicxy · 24/01/2018 15:28

So basically, GRC only. Is how I take that. 'Self identifying' women can apply but will get nowhere and the party just don't dare say out loud that the decision has been made.

LangCleg · 24/01/2018 15:43

See I read it as "Oh shit. We've already got TIMs without GRCs on AWS. And we think that's good even if it is illegal. So we're going to continue to let TIMs apply, magically forget to ask for their birth certificates to prove they have a GRC and hope nobody challenges us on it."

AngryAttackKittens · 24/01/2018 15:53

Whereas I read it as "Labour wouldn't actually tell us anything so we just decided to make some shit up".

Hmm maybe.

Whereas I read it as "Labour wouldn't actually tell us anything so we just decided to make some shit up".

Most likely tbh Grin

Penisnews is utter garbage these days.

AngryAttackKittens · 24/01/2018 15:56

I mean I know Labour has been doing a lot of pandering, but what's the likelihood that if they were about to give a first exclusive scoop they'd give it to Pink News?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 24/01/2018 16:10

nauticant on another thread

Stories like that are used to light a fire under the ladder to make it difficult for people to do their climbing down

I suspect this is correct.

Popchyk · 24/01/2018 17:24

So....

Labour are doing the whole say nothing and hope the issue goes away thing now?

Howyoualldoworkme · 24/01/2018 17:50

Well obviously our ladybrains will be distracted by March and then they....Ooh look, kittens! Grin
