AIBU GoFundMe addiction

I've recently become addicted to a Gofundme campaign. Every time I press refresh the total raised has jumped up and I don't seem to be able to stop.

I'm trying to stay within Mumsnet rules here, so obviously I can't link or promote it.

Does anyone else have this enjoyable problem?

I do like the fact that Roxanne's photo at the top of her GoFundMe has XX and XY stitched on it. I wonder what she thinks these mean?

So ridiculous that they DONATE in order to post their dumb ass comments. What do they hope to achieve by posting their cult mantras on there anyway? They’re just desperately flailing against biology, reason and truth. Oh, and women’s rights. Why can’t they just let the courts decide they’re so certain!

What is 'taxis for Travis' please? Is there really a fundraiser for taxi fares?

Thats one of the most ridiculous thing I have ever read. Travis cannot get the bus for fear of death threats and such that they get in public, but the fund is for taxis for them to have nights out? Erm..are the nights out not in public too?!

Travis is worried about being out in public? Travis is billed as a speaker for the Shambala festival this summer where they will be speaking to huge right-on crowds. Travis describes themselves as having visited 60 universities to give talks about trans issues.

I am on twitter. He got some replies interested in donating and many many more from women, going, are you SERIOUS? Is this sarcasm? He didn't really engage but it must have been embarrassing. It's the lack of any thought for others that makes this kind of thing so offensive.

Yes, I thought that too. What makes taxis so much safer? I guess it's the fact that Travis is very obviously a man so the taxi driver won't try and assault him.
