Italiangreyhound you are a an excellent ambassador for your gender thank youXX

48harv · 22/01/2018 19:02

Thank you all but let’s get back to the problem at hand are you content to wait until tomorrow before seeing this letter or would you prefer to see it now? And have your say in its content

Deadlylampshade · 22/01/2018 19:05

harv I’m really looking forward to reading your letter, it’s great that you’re writing it.

I’ve realised that very few people actually know what’s going on so it must just seem like we are shouting out of hatred and that’s so not the case.

I hope you begin to feel welcome here harv and know that if you ever need to chat or just vent we’re here.

Deadlylampshade · 22/01/2018 19:05

I’d love to read it harv

48harv · 22/01/2018 19:24

I type it to you now please feel free to criticise and add anything you wish , but remember this is written from a trans point of view here goes

48harv · 22/01/2018 20:00

Dear prime minister
As a transgender woman of almost 30 years I am begging you to reconsider this folly, I had to go through a long process to become my true self. Psychiatrists, Doctors, Surgeons, 2 years of assimilation, a name change all done before surgery was even considered, I suffered 4 months of abuse and violence from mostly men, I underwent 2 operations in 1991and1992 months of painful electrolysis followed and complete document changes to my new name.

Please don’t ruin all my hard work by relaxing these necessary steps

I NEVER felt unfairly treated and the 2 years I spent in limbo were a godsend as it gave me time to be absolutely sure the steps I took were right for me, you cant fast track this process it is in place for a reason.

Biological women are justifiably concerned with the prospect of anybody who fancies trying out being a woman can self certificate themselves and enter a woman’s changing cubicle, or swimming baths changing room where women shower, I am not a biological woman I can never be, but what I am is as close as I can be and can truly state I do not give rise to any concern or threat.
If a male can self certificate themselves without any medical reference they are still male no matter what they call themselves, it is also very possible for any deviant to self certificate just to get access to young women, I saw a battery of psychiatrists to confirm I was truly transgender and even though I did change my name early on as it was required by law, I avoided all women’s area out of respect for their genuine worries and concerns, I also admit at this time in my transition I had many masculine traits still and I know I would have caused distress to women in these rooms.

Please Prime Minister true trans people don’t want these changes, it’s the activists and politically correct brigade who think they know what trans people need, I knew from the age of reason that I was different and I wouldn’t change a minute of my journey, it takes time but the delay is there for a reason every step through the process needs to be there, there can be no shortcuts to gender identification time is a necessary validation.
This bill is not helping trans people but it is possibly opening the gateway for the wrong sort to gain access to a pool of vulnerable women and girls or by biological women boycotting these places further eroding their freedoms and add more stress and worry about what should be places of refuge and calm
I do not wish to personalise this plea but take a look at the picture of Danielle Muscato and say this is a woman you would like your daughter to meet in a changing room, I am not saying she is a deviant but she doesn’t look feminine either.

Deadlylampshade · 22/01/2018 20:08

I think that’s great harv, it’s very well thought out and gets the point across well.
The only thing I would suggest is to take out the bit about Danielle Muscato she’s American and it might blur the lines a bit, and it could seem like a low blow.

It must have taken you ages to write!

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 22/01/2018 20:10

Yep what deadly said

SophoclesTheFox · 22/01/2018 20:21

I also would not use the word "deviant". It's far too loaded. And "politcally correct brigade" is also not great. Other than that, I think it gets your point across well.

Deadlylampshade · 22/01/2018 20:24

I would also state exactly you wish her to reconsider, so maybe say ‘this folly of changing the process to get a gender recognition certificate to that of self identification’. Just so it’s very clear what you mean Smile

48harv · 22/01/2018 20:25

Thank you I will do the changes advised , is there anything that you think is repetitive or not strong enough.? Open to all suggestions

LangCleg · 22/01/2018 20:26

I would change deviant to predatory male, but otherwise, I think it's a great letter!

48harv · 22/01/2018 20:27

The heading which I neglected to type was
Re the governments plans to reform gender identity rules

Deadlylampshade · 22/01/2018 20:28

Ahhh that’s makes more sense

48harv · 22/01/2018 20:29

This is all very helpful , you are a bright lot I must say

Deadlylampshade · 22/01/2018 20:30

We’ve just had a lot of practise harv Wink

48harv · 22/01/2018 20:31

I will show it in it’s revised form to my niece tomorrow before posting it and if I don’t get a reply I spwill send it again and again until I do

48harv · 22/01/2018 20:35

What could I put instead of politically correct any suggestions?

thebewilderness · 22/01/2018 20:36

Am I the only one very tired of harv's judgments?
One of the many things you do not know about women, harv, is that we are judged every day in every way and so some of us get used to it and it falls off like water from a ducks back while for others it is like etching stone drip by toxic drip.

Datun · 22/01/2018 20:37

Yes change deviant to predatory male or predatory male and men who are not respectful of women.

And "or swimming baths changing room where women shower".

And add women or women with children. (This is a paedophile's dream.)

Although Daniel Muscato is American, I do think it proves a point.

Especially if you add his horrible quote.

Screenshot attached.

Thanks harv. Sterling stuff.

Deadlylampshade · 22/01/2018 20:37

I actually have no idea what you’re going on about bewilderness.

All I can see is someone trying their hardest to learn and be nice.

Deadlylampshade · 22/01/2018 20:42

How about just leaving it as activists and taking the political correct brigade out

Vicxy · 22/01/2018 20:50

I am assuming you are a few pages back?

Harv had a rocky start, but it seems to have been straightened out now.

And Harv, that letter looks good to me. Its probably worth sending it to your MP also though. Maybe just email it to your MP so you don;t have to write it out again. I know you said they were crap, but the more people contact even crap MPs the better IMO.

48harv · 22/01/2018 20:59

My niece was furious she knew nothing about this agenda by the government, might have another member 😡

48harv · 22/01/2018 21:03

It’s on my computer I a can print many copies I will send one to the trans mp also once I have her name any body?
