I suspect they might be peak transed when they read their Twitter when they get back out! I hope that this, and they, highlight some of the issues with the current trans craze.

Empress
Is ‘know Jenni Murray’ the gender critical version of ‘being a friend of Dorothy’? Because I can see that catching on Grin

LangCleg · 07/01/2018 10:13

Criticism of India does indeed seem universal.

But I would say that a lot of people are still clinging to the notion that India is a bad apple among the trans community and showing it up, rather than entirely representative of its activism wing.

And India is representative of transactivism.

I just hope it will help people start to join the dots from India through media and all the way to legislative change.

Are we seeing a good example of the narcissism prevalent in so many of those who transition

I thought that. And when they are being backed up by allies their reactions must make sense to them.

Strip away that echo chamber and they look extraordinarily narcissistic.

It's almost unsettling to watch it unfold. Although there is a horrid fascination.

Alwaysinmyheart · 07/01/2018 10:25

I haven't been able to watch CBB this weekend due to DP being here, it's been fascinating so far, I can't wait to see what happens when the men enter the house. Looking forward to watching it on catch up! Smile

guardianfree · 07/01/2018 10:27

Datun
Horrid fascination describes it!

QueenLaBeefah · 07/01/2018 10:33

I do feel very sorry for India's family. A narcissistic, sulky, two face bully who is very domineering in any situation. His ex wife must be glad she is free of this arseholes

Alwaysinmyheart · 07/01/2018 10:33

This link is from the CBB thread, it's fb comments about India, none v positive, she's so shot herself in the foot! Well worth a read...

I know I’m going to get flamed here but I quite like Courtney Act, I follow them on Instagram and I very much get the feeling that they are trying to expand the man box rather than take the woman’s box.
I think that’s why India has a problem with them.
I know lots of gay men who’ve been peak transed by trans activists trying to ban drag queens.

I think you’re all right about her normally being in her echo chamber. I imagine that she thought that the minute someone migendered her she’d win the public vote.

Deadlylampshade · 07/01/2018 10:42

Oh gosh that Facebook feed is interesting, where are the handmaidens?

Also I keep seeing posts and I’m like ‘I bet they’re a mumsnetter’ Grin

Elendon · 07/01/2018 11:09

I like Courtney Act too hides

Ann Widdecombe's face when his skirt fell down (again - once is unfortunate, twice is careless) was very funny.

The only problem I have is that the narrative is all about which man can present as the best looking woman. If I were in the house I'd be dressing as a man.

Deadlylampshade · 07/01/2018 11:18

Yeah and there’s some really nasty comments on Facebook along the lines of ‘Courtney act is a better looking woman than all the women in there’.

It gives me the red hot rage.

Given the conversation I saw where she said she wasn't attracted to women, I feel doubly sorry for her. What a bastard thing to do to someone (assuming she didn't know, and he mislead her)

I saw Courtney Act on Drag Race, and whilst I didn't like him as a person (and the wardrobe malfunction is definitely going to be on purpose) - he's a drag queen - under no illusion he's a woman, he just earns a living dressing up as one.

PocketCoffeeEspresso · 07/01/2018 11:27

Yeah and there’s some really nasty comments on Facebook along the lines of ‘Courtney act is a better looking woman than all the women in there’.

It's Courtney's job to be a 'good looking woman' - so of course she does it well, he dedicates a large portion of his life to it. If any of the women put that much effort into their looks, they, too could look like Courtney - it's a complete fiction!

Deadlylampshade · 07/01/2018 11:32

I saw that India doesn’t talk to his 19 year old son any more because he wasn’t ‘supportive’ of his transition.

Because it’s all about India

QueenLaBeefah · 07/01/2018 11:34

I went to see the "Lady Boys of Bangkok" a few years ago and on stage they were beautiful, truly mesmerising but when they left the stage and circulated around the audience they do look like men in a frock. Their female beauty is an illusion.

I agree that anyone with the right make up, wigs and frocks can look amazing. (If you can be arsed, which I can't 😂).

Frekkles1 · 07/01/2018 11:35

Right here's my view India is vile the first thing 'she' says was you are my phobia yet India don't like being misgendered India is a vile bully and thinks it's the INDIA SHOW...and what was that with Ginuwine last night she didn't storm off because of he's views as such she stormed off because she got rejected!

Frekkles1 · 07/01/2018 11:36
Glitterball
Ekphrasis · 07/01/2018 11:38

Absolutely empress. I'd already imagined using it as such!

Is that classed as the cotton ceiling too or another phrase?

CharizMa · 07/01/2018 11:50

Wow, just watched the clip where they were in the jacuzzi. No wonder India was annoyed with the black american man (don't know any of contestants' names). India can insist insist insist insist forever that (s)he is a woman not a trans woman but a woman but if a straight male just sez nonchalantly ''nope, i'd never date a trans woman'' then it makes the tank-like gaslighting ''im a woman i'm awoman'' kind of meaningless.

I agree, these tank like gaslighting trans women are bullying right on pc younger women in to submission but it is straight men who will never be told that a trans woman is a woman.

Ekphrasis · 07/01/2018 12:16

There are many tweets/ memes like this one at the mo:

terfing · 07/01/2018 12:24

I think India is trying to get a bullying storyline going with her as the victim, but it's backfiring spectacularly. She's just not clever enough to be successfully manipulative.

Methinks there may be a few terfy producers at BBHQ... Wink
