This is what it has come to. A women thrown out of a women's network party because of a man, or more accurately, a boy's feelings might be hurt. What the fuck is going on?

I've wondered how he would respond if I wrote to him about transwomen abortion rights. Or transwomen period poverty. Or transwomen inclusion in breastfeeding groups. Or transwomen being able to access appropriate contraception services.

If Labour is so hopeless as to let this shit go unchallenged, they deserve it. And I say that as a life-long Labour voter.

The thing that Lily doesn't get (or more likely is deliberately choosing to ignore) is that violence against trans people is a different problem to violence against women. The violence comes from different places, happens for different reasons. Which is why Lily Madigan should have stood for trans officer. Because she is trans.

If the population is roughly 50/50 men and women, and 0.3-3% of the population is trans, including both transmen and transwomen, but 1in 3 women suffer violence or sexual abuse, how on earth does that tally up with LM's assertion that there are more transwomen than women who have been assaulted?
