Lily is 19. Lily was instrumental in the hate campaign against Anne Ruzylo which resulted in her standing down.

You have to be a woman to be women’s officer but ‘The Labour councillor said that “lived experience as a woman” should be considered an advantage — but not a prerequisite — for the role of women’s officer.’

Lily could also have gone for the LGBT officer role but they didn’t want that. No, they wanted to show women that they can shit all over them and we will applaud them for doing it.

I’m absolutely furious about this ( as you can probably tell)

that was 2016 Oleannas! Following his 'sue my school' nonsense.

Workshop seems to be this:

His actual clinic appointment was in August 2017, per his public statement

OlennasWimple · 27/11/2017 01:15

Ooops - my bad, as they say round here.... Blush

pisacake · 27/11/2017 01:25

Lily spent the day accusing female Times journalist of being a liar, saying he hadn't applied for Jo Cox award, despite a long discussion about it with her

twitter.com/madigan_lily/status/934841018855428096

But now, a few hours later, he has (just now, only just this minute you understand).

twitter.com/madigan_lily/status/934929969528082432

So accusing woman of being a liar was totally unnecessary.

The only sad thing is that this silly boy is being given the time of day.

JynOdan · 27/11/2017 01:59

Lily says here that the account was fake but then in the next tweet also says that he did make the complaints. But the account was fake. But he made the complaints.

Interesting that when asked if Lily supports women-only spaces, Lily replies they support “gender-specific” spaces.

Clearly already in training to be a politician.

TiredOfThisAll · 27/11/2017 07:27

But that is quite scary - if the language shifts to gender-specific spaces and not same-sex spaces, women won’t have a leg to stand on. I was reading the tweets thinking Lily/Liam was tying themselves in knots but that quote, combined with it not being about enclosed gender neutral toilet space, but gender-specific makes me think he knows what he is doing (and/or is being put up to do)

There are more comments supporting Lily/Liam to apply for that scholarship than otherwise.

AnachronisticCorpse · 27/11/2017 07:43

I was awake half the night thinking about all this. It has really pinged my anxiety in a horrible way.

These men HATE US. They won’t be happy until the word ‘woman’ has no meaning, I mean we’re halfway there already ffs. The whole phrase ‘transwomen are women’ is so bizarre when there are no parameters for what constitutes a trans woman. As far as I can see it’s any male who says he is, regardless of how he lives or presents. So what exactly is the point?

I cannot get my head round the tide of support for these arseholes. It has moved so far away from transsexuals and their rightful need to be accepted and treated with respect. It has nothing to do with gender dysphoria, genuine distress or psychiatric disorders and everything to do with entitled men wanting in on what they perceive as all our good stuff. Allowing a TIM to be a Women’s Officer, apply for a women only programme, take part in women’s sports, all this stuff we’re being forced to accept is just horrifying.

I keep banging on about this in real life and have ‘peak transed’ most of my family but it’s not enough.

I feel like I need to caveat this by saying that I have the utmost respect and sympathy for people in genuine gender distress, males who live their lives as women, quietly and without demanding we give up all our rights and spaces to them. Which, as I understand it, is how the Transexuals want things to be. Except we’re not allowed to say ‘transexual’ anymore. And Transgender has no meaning other than ‘get the fuck out of my way and bow to my reality’.

Sorry if that’s a bit muddled, I’ve had hardly any sleep and not enough coffee.

Maryz · 27/11/2017 07:59

So 14 hours ago (6 pm yesterday) she hadn't applied and the Times journalist was a liar for saying she had, and 8 hours ago (before midnight) she had applied?

[baffled]

And yes, I think "gender specific" spaces will be the future, along with "transwomen are women and can use female spaces".

Sentimentallentil · 27/11/2017 08:12

‘I made a complaint from a position of ignorance and disadvantage’

God he really is a nob. What ‘disadvantage’ do men have? Always the victim. Not ‘i made the complaint from a place of ignorance and stupidity’ or even just ‘I made the complaint from a place of ignorance’ would do. But no, lily’s The victim.

Sentimentallentil · 27/11/2017 08:15

And the observer had an article out in the morning saying he had applied, no cries of that journalist being a liar. Also no cries that the male labour counsellor who said he’d been his referee is a liar.

Lily is full of shit.

jellyfrizz · 27/11/2017 08:16

If spaces are 'gender-specific' where will agender and non-binary people go?

SuburbanRhonda · 27/11/2017 08:21

More to the point, jelly, where will most of us, who think gender is a crock of shite, go?

badbadhusky · 27/11/2017 09:01

Also, aren’t there something like 53 genders now? Even the wealthiest, most right-on organisation is going to struggle to adapt its sex-segregated spaces to meet that diversity of identity. Mmm, I wonder if there’s a simpler way of organising things...

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 27/11/2017 09:10

if the language shifts to gender-specific spaces and not same-sex spaces, women won’t have a leg to stand on

This^ This is what is happening and it is terrifying. Gender is replacing sex as the defining characteristic, and legislators and politicians are walking into it with their eyes closed.

Maryz · 27/11/2017 09:26

Don't be silly, it's obvious how the "gender specific" spaces will be.

One for men. One for non-men.

Maryz · 27/11/2017 09:28

Gender specific sport will also be men and non-men.

With non-men including "anyone who doesn't want to be compete with a man.

SuburbanRhonda · 27/11/2017 09:33

And people claim women aren’t being erased.

kua · 27/11/2017 09:43

According to the application form for the programme. The closing date was Nov 20th. See extract below.

How can you apply?

You can apply by completing the form below by 20 November 2017. We will let you know whether you’ve been successful by the week commencing 18 December. This is application is the only process – there will be no interviews – so please provide as much information as possible in a clear and concise structure.

LangCleg · 27/11/2017 09:57

Dawn Butler sent an email blast about the Jo Cox program to Labour Party women members on the 24th. I quote:

"Please encourage other women you know to apply for the programme. The deadline for submitting an application is midnight on Sunday 26 November 2017."

Clearly, Lily (or whoever is pulling Lily's strings) has spun this apply/not apply stuff for maximum effect. I really think that they believe making as much of it as they could would be great for them - tempt all the evil TERFs to expose themselves or somesuch. It beggars belief really. Don't they realise that radical feminists are the least of their worries? Their nonsense going mainstream is what they should fear.

Whatsitallabout70 · 27/11/2017 09:59

There have been some fair points made here about legitimate questions raised against Lily’s competence to do the job and also whether a trans woman is best placed to be women’s officer when her priority may well be trans issues. I accept that. But there is an undercurrent of anti trans sentiment even if it is simply the insistence of referring to Lily as a TIM, boy, he etc when everyone knows that Lily views herself as female and so uses female pronouns and would call herself a trans woman, not a trans identifying male. Having been born male is what will have distressed Lily, as a trans woman, the most, so to continually refer to her as male can only be done as a public show of disrespecting her gender dysphoria and her trans identity.

Superlandlady · 27/11/2017 10:00

Would everyone please spare 30 seconds to watch this? Thanks.

Then compare with 30 seconds of this. Thanks.

Superlandlady · 27/11/2017 10:01

SORRY, compare with THIS 30 seconds. Thanks.

LangCleg · 27/11/2017 10:04

Whatsitallabout70 - respect is a two-way street. Lily has a history of misogynist behaviour, which disrespects women. Lily has taken part in the bullying of a fellow Labour activist for feminist views, which disrespects women. Lily has applied for a scholarship intended to reduce sex-based inequalities in politics, which disrespects women. Lily has openly misled people about her intentions regarding the scholarship, which disrespects women. Lily, in short, is a men's rights activist. Quite why women should be the first to show respect entirely escapes me.

LangCleg · 27/11/2017 10:10

(BTW for clarity - I realise many feminists on here feel it's important to use pronouns referring to sex and not gender. But pronouns don't fuss me. I'm used to an environment where pronouns are used interchangeably and have been for years. Gay men in my circle regularly call one another 'she' and 'her'. I understand why others stick to sex-based references, though.)

WTAFisthisshit · 27/11/2017 10:12

whatsit can I ask how your child now identifies and what pronouns they use?
