Lily Madigan, TIM, elected Labour women's officer

Lily is 19. Lily was instrumental in the hate campaign against Anne Ruzylo which resulted in her standing down.

You have to be a woman to be women’s officer but ‘The Labour councillor said that “lived experience as a woman” should be considered an advantage — but not a prerequisite — for the role of women’s officer.’

Lily could also have gone for the LGBT officer role but they didn’t want that. No, they wanted to show women that they can shit all over them and we will applaud them for doing it.

I’m absolutely furious about this ( as you can probably tell)

Makemysogny, just curious, why are you asking for a data protection request?

My mp has read my message about cancelling but not replied. She can fuck off. I'm actually ashamed I've ever been a member.

GuardianLions · 20/11/2017 18:51

Anyone seen this? twitter.com/4th_WaveNow/status/932679473048227840

hazeyjane · 20/11/2017 18:55

Ah, lightbulb - is Lily the transgender pupil who organised fellow pupils and hired a lawyer about wearing a skirt at a Catholic school??

Acatfromjapan, I feel such impotent fury over this, cancelling my labour member ship might seem pointless but I'm not sure how I voice my anger, and who to?

GuardianLions · 20/11/2017 18:56

Yes he is the one

GuardianLions · 20/11/2017 18:57

Does anyone know who the lawyer was or how the lawyer was funded?

FizzyWaterAndElderflower · 20/11/2017 18:57

I'm not in the UK, and never have been involved with the Labour Party but what's with the Apprentice team names for what I assume are lobby groups within the party? Momentum? Militant? Dear Lord...

Yes Hazey - that's the person.

FizzyWaterAndElderflower · 20/11/2017 19:00

Mind you, that skirt (or makeup) would never have flown at my schools - neither of which were catholic...

RebeccaWrongDaily · 20/11/2017 19:01

i am a labour member who's just sent a message to my MP about leaving.

Why would I keep giving them my money, attending their boring meetings, knocking on bloody doors, stuffing envelopes, doing phone banks etc for them when they don't give a damn about people like me?

Let Lily do all that, with her buddies.

TitaniasCloset · 20/11/2017 19:02

Flora I did yes, I assumed my dogs gender. In fairness he has a penis. But I apologise, in truth I have never asked him which gender he prefers. He also has an obsession with cats, he could identify as trans species for all I know. I shall try calling him puss puss and present him with catnip tomorrow.

I think in this situation we go right to the politicians at the top. Why should they just glide through, unbothered on this issue while mumbling about austerity and brexit when pushed. This affects 50% of the population.

No doubt they shall ignore us.

Who is this child’s immediate senior? And their boss? Sorry I’ve missed bits of the thread if it’s already been mentioned.

pisacake · 20/11/2017 19:03

Oh, Lily/Liam is claiming that someone went back in time four years and created the Twitter account to bully him. www.facebook.com/iamlils/posts/1377822902345495?pnref=story
archive.is/X3ga7

"Just a heads up that there is a fake twitter account someone has made in my old name in an attempt to bully me 🤦🏼‍♀️
"

The Twitter account clearly says "Created January 2013"

So nice try Lily, but it's bollocks.

TitaniasCloset · 20/11/2017 19:03

I’m a labour member too.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 20/11/2017 19:04

Much as I'd like to complain to Labour (I am a party member*), I don't think it will make any difference. They'll just say he was only 15, has changed since then, it was youthful silliness.

  • I do intend to leave, just trying to find out how. The website doesn't give you the option to cancel your membership, so I'm guessing I need to contact the local party. Anyhow, it is clearly not the party for me anymore, sadly, I don't think any other is either :(
TitaniasCloset · 20/11/2017 19:04

Yeah my teenagers tell lies like that too. Usually about weed and the procuring there of.

FloraFox · 20/11/2017 19:06

pisa lying comes easily to people who have disconnected from truth.

MillicentFawcett · 20/11/2017 19:06

Did they fake the photo of him mimicking giving a blow job to Tigger too?

I was going to ask how dumb he thinks we are but, judging by his life so far, probably very. Every time he throws his toys out of the pram people genuflect around him.

All this attention and being called 'brave' when you're just a common or garden effeminate bloke must be quite intoxicating.

QueenLaBeefah · 20/11/2017 19:07

My teenager comes out with similar shite when they've fucked up. Someone with a bit more maturity would hold their hands up and apologise but very immature people tell lies instead.

Gileswithachainsaw · 20/11/2017 19:07

Anyone who's on Twitter tempted to point out the date?

Lying bastard.

pisacake · 20/11/2017 19:07

Yes, I mean he could say "Yes I did that as a 15-year-old but now I'm 19 and mature", but he has to say it's a fucking conspiracy against him.

Glowerglass · 20/11/2017 19:11

I am so repelled by this. This boy knows NOTHING. I've been Labour all my life. But I can't vote for this shit.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 20/11/2017 19:12

'Can I just plead with sensible people not to leave Labour?

Nothing would please Momentum more than all the sensible (all the oft-derided 'centrists' i.e. not utterly delusional) people to leave and enable their asset stripping take-over?

This has the finger-prints of Momentum all over it.'

The hierarchy of the party are turning a blind eye to rampant misogyny. I stood by Labour back in the days of militant, even when I'd seen first hand (involved in local party politics) how aggressive, sexist and racist some elements could be, because I hoped it could get better. But it didn't, we got Blair, and now we're back to the ranting chauvinists. Apart from a brief reappearance under John Smith, Labour hasn't been Labour for decades. That's it for me.

AlternativeTentacle · 20/11/2017 19:13

Sorry Stewart Lee. But all this bollocks, with people scared of calling it out - really is political correctness gone mad. I never thought I would have more in common with the Tories than labour. A day of mourning.

thecatfromjapan · 20/11/2017 19:14

Hazey I don't know. Sad I feel much the same.

Datun · 20/11/2017 19:16

pisacake

I wish someone would tell him they have taken it up with Twitter, and they should have all the documentation and IP addresses of the perpetrator soon, so he needn’t worry.

thecatfromjapan · 20/11/2017 19:16

It really does feel like a return to the utter sidelining of women/misogyny within Labour.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 20/11/2017 19:17

Not only did someone travel back in time to create a fake account, they also managed to get a lookeelikee to mime giving a blowjob. That's dastardly.
