This is churlish of me, but does anyone else get a bit peeved when threads on feminist chat end up with two or more self-admitted men debating with each other? Always seemingly at great length! Presumably it's deliberate.

I’m really not down with porn, hope that doesn’t offend anyone, but I’m reminded of the butchery counter. Al it’s done has made society worse for women. The amount of times I’ve been in shops and staff just reading it on the counter. Once in a hospital shop. I’m not a prude, I just hate the representation as women as reciprocals. Sigh. And how normalised it is. And how it’s look is mainstream.

My main objection remains that it is impossible for the consumer to tell, at the point of consumption, whether the participants were consenting or not. If there's even a 1 in a thousand chance you're watching filmed rape (and I think actually the odds are far, far shorter than that), why would yo do it? I don't want to be complicit in rape. I just don't understand the mindset of women who are cool with it.

I post on those threads in case of lurkers who aren't really cool with it but think they're supposed to be
