I've scrolled back a few pages and I can't even find the last pub thread.

So I've taken the beer towels off the pumps, tapped a new barrel, polished the glasses, fed the goat and applied brasso to the patriarchy busting canon.

Come and join me - all tastes catered for - beer, gin, wine, cocktails, coffee and a nice cup of tea.

Nineteenagain · 27/12/2017 15:44

Quentin
Thanks ,I will.

QuentinSummers · 27/12/2017 16:00

I feel like a corpulent blob! Need to go for a run but it's too cold and I can't be arsed

Beltane18 · 27/12/2017 21:06

Thanks for the understanding
SAD is so overwhelming!

This is the first year we've not really done Xmas, there are many benefits ...but just had one that never occurred....my sister has phoned and told us all the unwanted things they have which they can bring here at the weekend! That's going to save a bit of money Grin

QuentinSummers · 27/12/2017 22:06

Oh SAD is shit! But we are on the downhill run now until longer days and sunlight again. Hope you feel better soon x

Beltane18 · 27/12/2017 22:38

Thanks Quentin
Yes, xmas week is the worst by far, combining shortest days with family pressures etc
If I could sleep through the fortnight I would, but I'm guessing that particular sleeping pill doesn't exist Grin

IcedCocoa · 27/12/2017 22:45

I would sleep through the Christmas fortnight tooFlowers

Beltane18 · 28/12/2017 01:28

This pill would sell well....reminds me of a children's story, a boy had a string he could pull out of a box or something, to make bad times pass? Can't recall the name of the story but I think the boy was called Peter.

FloweringDeranger · 28/12/2017 13:25

Hey, I just saw this and thought of you lot. I thought it was a great way to illustrate how it doesn't matter what you're wearing in sexual assault.

Lancelottie, I am not your MIL but that sounds like something I would do. I would be worrying that you would think I was a lazy mare and that I was rude for not helping.

This is a pub where the bartender lets you rant on, isn't it? Sometimes I really hate my xx biology. It is particularly bad in every way this month. It hurts, is messy and everything my DC do is annoying me. Although that might be because what they are doing is winding each other up.

Plus DD1 has been ill so haven't been able to get out with DC either. No one to take younger ones out so all of us stuck. And even if we could go out, I am feeling sick of playgrounds. I just want to be by myself for a day.

Anybody else fancy being quiet with a book or staring into space?

Sounds like heaven

Lancelottie · 28/12/2017 20:14

Oh, I know it’s well intentioned, ISay. But there’s a sort of double implication in it that I’ll think her lazy (but not BIL) if they just go away and sit quietly with the paper; and also that whatever I’m doing should of course be housework related and need offers of help, not that I might have vanished for a peaceful half hour with the crossword.
She doesn’t follow DH round asking if he needs ‘a bit of help with that’ when he slopes off for a bit.
Hmm...

ISaySteadyOn · 28/12/2017 21:05

Ah, yes, sort of ' can I help you with x thing I think you should be doing?'. Yeah, that I wouldn't do.

Lancelottie · 28/12/2017 21:19

That’s it exactly, yes!

terfing · 29/12/2017 20:22

Why was the "Kate from Nottingham" thread deleted?

QuentinSummers · 29/12/2017 20:51

I missed that one

SophoclesTheFox · 29/12/2017 21:26

it was? I wasn't on it, but I read a chunk of it. Deluded idiot, but the thread was hilarious. What happened?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 29/12/2017 23:39

Was Kate from Nottingham the new Brian from Hull? Or whatever his name was.

There seem to be some champion derailers on FWR lately.

Beltane18 · 30/12/2017 10:24

Steady, I hope you're feeling better soon

there are absolutely bits of my biology I have no use for!!!!

I'm soooo tired. I know it's the weather but we were out yesterday and I enjoyed it but just sooooo tired. Bizarre.

BeyondAssignation · 30/12/2017 11:06

Yeah that was the kate thread. Here's the deletion message...

Thread deleted
Message from MNHQ: Following various enquiries and reports about this thread, we think it's time to take this one down now.

BeyondAssignation · 30/12/2017 11:10

I had the rhubarb Gin for Xmas last year, was lovely stuff.

This year I have some sloe Gin that I haven't tried yet (last time I had sloe Gin was a level results day - it didn't end well!). Might open it for new year.

ISaySteadyOn · 30/12/2017 11:39

Much better. Thanks, beltane. Off to attempt kite flying now.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 30/12/2017 12:01

Is it just me or is the cooler weather producing the need in some more recent posters on trans threads to cover their hands with socks with buttons sewn on for eyes?

Shame about Kate. Deletion message was rubbish.

Beltane18 · 30/12/2017 12:56

I didn't see Kate

the title confused me enough. So did "Janet". I tend to just assume some threads are in jokes that I missed!

This cold weather is driving me nuts. I think we haven't had a winter this cold in London since 2011/12?

Or maybe I'm spending more time standing around at bus stops these days!
