Saw the Sky news item. Indeed well done Christina Patterson and Matthew Syed .

However, I do wish people would say sex instead of gender when it is sex they are talking about. Matthew Syed referred to gender as a biological fact when what he meant was sex is a biological fact.

(OT, but does the MN profile page still have a binary option of 'gender' instead of sex.... ffs, a parenting site surely doesn't need to use a euphemism for sex. And if they actually mean gender then surely they need more options nowadays.....)

Agree re confusion, but hey it was being discussed on mainstream news - i'll take that even if they do mix their words up a bit.

Ignoring how awful it is for us - for them to use a blatant slur like that - it was such poor journalism it did make me smile
