What Datun said.

venusinscorpio · 04/04/2017 18:23

I do think this ideology is toxic though. Enabling self absorption narcissism to this extent isn't healthy.

Datun · 04/04/2017 18:42

venusinscorpio

We agree on so much.

The more I see the less I like. So much of it seems deliberate.

When I read about what women say who enable this, I rarely see how much transpeople are fighting for the rights of women. It's all about the right to be considered women. For no bloody reason! Not because they want to join the fight, not because they understand what it's like, just be because they want to be validated as female. For what???

annandale · 04/04/2017 20:48

I would put money on a lot of transwomen having had horrible childhoods with a lot of sexualised? bullying or conflict of some kind and just want their previous lives/selves to disappear Sad

But I do worry about the social contagion side as well.

ScaredOnTheInside · 04/04/2017 21:51

Yes no one has repeated the actual words said. I haven't read the discussion for over a week (it's taken a while for me to get round to putting it on here) but it seems like she used it as an opportunity to rail against the appropriation of lesbianhood. Someone was quite bewildered as to how someone who ticked so many intersectional boxes (ie disabled dyke) could actually have got through their vetting process or whatever.

I googled Barbary Clarke too, Datun, but all I could find is evidence of some grassroots lesbian and environmental activism. I may be wrong.

This seems to be more something that transmen (i.e. females who transition) have been through.

Boys are rarely targeted by sexual predators for being boys, more for being children.

I suppose there are some transwomen who had horribly abusive fathers and don't want to be like them, but it is not something I have heard about often. Main reasons for young boys to transition seems to be being gay, while for older men (but some younger outliers, too) it is more about autogynephilia.

Datun · 04/04/2017 22:04

...while for older men (but some younger outliers, too) it is more about autogynephilia.

Distasteful there is to talk about, a lot of a lot of autogynephiles say they knew when they were quite young.

annandale · 05/04/2017 21:54

Lots of boys get bullied. Doesn't have to be by a sexual predator.

Floozie66 · 05/04/2017 22:15

I must be getting old - i do not understand half of what this person is on about and why so much venom seems to be directed at women who are born as females and raised as girls - all seems a bit mysogynistic for want of a better word!!!

Datun · 05/04/2017 22:50

Floozie66

It IS misogynistic. That is exactly the right word.

MightyMikey · 06/04/2017 07:55

This is a post from Crossdressers.com - it clearly states these men in an Autogynaphilic state.
It really annoys me that these same men will argue to the end of moon that they do not have autogynaphilia and that they are somehow women because of these strong sexual urges.
(Slight warning this link I would consider NSFW From the Horses' Mouth).
Why cann't this be talked about freely - why do these men lie - why are they soooo ashamed - so many questions I would like answered, but am not even aloud to ask!!

Datun · 06/04/2017 09:09

MightyMikey

I really don't think most people realise how many cross dressing fetishists there are in the trans community. Put it this way every cross dressing fetishist in the country can now identify as trans.

They switch from denying it it exists, to saying it's completely normal, to asserting that every natal born woman has it.

God knows, there are plenty of kinks around, but my acceptance of human frailty is sorely tested with the assumption that a man's fetish with himself is the definition of womanhood. It gets even worse when you read about men who genuinely think that is what being a woman is all about. I honestly can't imagine how they hold down a job. Their self perception is so warped.

There is a move to have AGP considered a sexual orientation. I'm torn about this. On the one hand I think it's a fairly unpleasant kink as it relies on the sexualisation of women, and therefore should not be given much houseroom. On the other hand bringing it out into the open would alert a lot of people to it and, hopefully, decide the 'bathroom debate' once and for all.

MightyMikey · 06/04/2017 10:37

Interesting point re AGP being a sexual orientation - my initial thoughts are much the same as Datun, in that I don't see it as an orientation as such, but the more people debate and see what is going on with these men, the better.
If it is a sexual orientation, then so is the BDSM enthusiast and even more disturbingly, people could argue that is the case for Pedophilia. Leading to people with harmful or excessive sexual disorders to brush it away with "It's my Sexual Orientation, nothing to be done, no help/therapy needed".

Bambambini · 06/04/2017 10:37

I was folloeing the furore around India Willoughby's article. The comments from Trans commentators were interesting. Lots of affirmation and comments saying cross dressers/TVs/part time TW should ignore IW and just use the women's loos. So basically admitting that all it takes is for any man who wears a dress or some make up to use the ladies. Absolutely no thought or consideration for how women and girls feel or how it might affect them. Such a ME ME ME outlook. it's such a distinct group, a completely different community from women/girls/female.

Datun · 06/04/2017 10:47

Absolutely no thought or consideration for how women and girls feel or how it might affect them.

Women,as people, is a concept for which transactivists have a remarkably effective mental bypass.

We are merely props in their endless quest for affirmation.

MightyMikey · 06/04/2017 11:19

Here is India's apology article in Pink News - the trans activists did give her a hard time on Twitter. She should know the script of "anyone who says they're trans are trans".
I personally think India only ever wants to see lovely, lovely looking ladies, and a big old hairy guy in a dress in her eyesight is not validating to her identity/delusion.
India's Grovelling Apology

Nellooo · 06/04/2017 11:24

It's interesting, don't you think, that the topic "TRANS" has a special menu item on the Pink News website? Shows the perceived (expected? demanded?) level of importance given to this group.

Another trans whine
Datun · 06/04/2017 12:11

She told PinkNews: “The last few days have been an education and a reminder.

I see India has been getting the same sort of 'education' that women get - shut the fuck up otherwise there'll be trouble.

Making a grovelling apology to TRAs only fuels the rage. The have India in their crosshairs and will go in for the kill. She will never, ever be allowed to forget.

Bambambini · 06/04/2017 13:36

Tbh India comes across as a shallow manipulative attention seeker - so self absorbed. I think many in the trans community were a bit suspect about India from a while back and calls them a UK cut price Jenner. Ouch! India's apology is purely self serving - won't get msny interviews, talk shows, engagements etc if the Trans community turns on them.

ArcheryAnnie · 06/04/2017 13:38

India's not the sharpest tool in the box, so I'm not surprised when India's statements go a bit awry.
