They come up with this.

First post - Why Transwomen Aren't Biologically Male.
www.facebook.com/everydayfeminism/

The comments are encouraging though, that is, the ones that haven't been deleted. Lots of people questioning and calling this out.

I'm tempted to argue that since gender and sex are now constructs so is truth, So my truth is whatever it wants to be and no one can argue that it's wrong... Well wrong is a social construct too anyway, so you could say it's not an untruth, but then that's a circular definition... A bit like their definition of woman...

Might be fun to see who's head implodes first, Russian roulette with post truth liberal rhetoric!

venusinscorpio · 13/02/2017 15:43

We should play EF chicken, and see how much we can mess with their heads while pretending to agree with them before they twig and we get deleted.

WhereYouLeftIt · 13/02/2017 16:08

Just watched that "Why Transwomen Aren't Biologically Male." Apparently, if I dye my hair blonde, I am no longer a natural brunette. FFS.

WhereYouLeftIt · 13/02/2017 16:10

Also - I was not 'assigned' female at birth. I was RECOGNISED female at birth. 'Assigned sounds' like they flipped a coin or met a quota.

BeyondUnderthinking · 13/02/2017 16:10

I have tattoos, I no longer count myself as white. I'm multicoloured.
They'd better start including that on censuses cause I sure am oppressed while they don't!!
Literal genocide, n'all...

mirrorisnotmyfriend · 13/02/2017 17:03

My favourite trick is to 'like' a comment calling me a nasty oppressive TERF, they get all confused.

mirrorisnotmyfriend · 13/02/2017 17:07

One of my favourite comments. Just zero self awareness, doesn't see the irony at all. By a TW.

Amber Snider People are not being silenced for having dissenting opinions. There is plenty of disagreement being left here. The difference is that the disagreement isn't rooted in the dehumanizations of certain women in order to make a point.

You crying about being called 'cis' is ridiculous. It's not a slur, it's a scientific designation. Trans people have been dealing with being forced to use a scientific designation before their gender for decades. Why is it a slur when it's you, but not for them?

You can't claim to care about all women if your activism works against their safety, health, and rights as a human being. The term TERF exists because Radical Feminists have deliberately and even violently worked to exclude trans women from their spaces, have actively denied the identities of trans men, and have been openly aggressive towards women who have had or have desired relationships with men. It's not a slur, it's a description of an exclusive, violent, and frankly disgusting ideology.
Nice that you call our collective understanding of our oppression "ideology".

Sorry, but it just seems a little familiar for an oppressor to not agree that a marginalized group they have power over experiences oppression and understands their material realities.

Trans people have spent decades writing about transphobia and cissexism. If you don't 'agree' with that, it still doesn't make it any less real.

And I don't view women as my oppressors, since I am one. On the axis of gender, I'm oppressed by men, obviously. In transphobia/cissexism, I view cis people as my oppressors, justifiably, because they weaponize transphobia and cissexism against us. That's, like, the most basic part of trans 101.

AAAARGH!!!
'I don't view women as my oppressors, since I am one'.

NO you are NOT!!

'I don't view women as my oppressors, since I am one'.

Nah, he views as his oppressors those vile people with uteruses and ovaries. Some of whom are "men", so, totally no sexism there!

venusinscorpio · 13/02/2017 17:28

"Trans 101" is patently bullshit.

venusinscorpio · 13/02/2017 17:29

I think cult is nearer than ideology.

DianaMemorialJam · 13/02/2017 17:43

There was a comment on there along the lines of 'why don't you like being called 'cis'? If you disagree with it then it means you see trans women as a lower class to yourself' (paraphrasing)

I couldn't read anymore, it was making me furious.

ILoveDolly · 13/02/2017 17:44
Confused That is all

Well they are just going to have to deal with that terrible oppression, because no fucker is ever going to refer to me as cis without being challenged.

Datun · 13/02/2017 18:38

'assigned at birth'

is becoming very mainstream.

Datun · 13/02/2017 18:39

quack

I was thinking the same thing. There seems to be a dearth of dissenters. I think people are waking up to the implications of including people because one is kind.

mirrorisnotmyfriend · 13/02/2017 19:10

I'm banned! Just came back on after dinner and all my comments are gone and I'm blocked. I feel quite proud.

OP posts:
BenLinusatemyhomework · 13/02/2017 19:10

You know what, we're all just clusters of subatomic particles whirling round each other. I'm going to start screaming bigot and oppressor at any body who differentiates anything from anything.

"Pass me the cup please"
"Did you just differentiate that cluster of atoms from yourself and coercively named it cup?! SERIOUSLY?! How very dare you, for all you know it identifies as a bath and you have just literally FUCKING DESTROYED IT!"

DianaMemorialJam · 13/02/2017 19:15

Ben actually crying 😂

Well done on the ban op!

I'm still hoping it's just an elaborate publicity stunt/game and it's not actually real...

venusinscorpio · 13/02/2017 19:19

Have they done another smug Righteous Purge of dissenting comments together with twee EF commentary on it?

PencilsInSpace · 13/02/2017 19:24

I don't get this idea that to say or imply that transwomen are male is to 'dehumanize' them. Male people are the default humans! They are afforded way more status as human beings than women are. What's wrong with being male?

DianaMemorialJam · 13/02/2017 19:28

Pencil they want to 'own' the title of woman, too. It's not enough anymore to control what a 'real man' is, they want to redefine and takeover the meaning of being female.

PencilsInSpace · 13/02/2017 19:32

Amber Snider appears to have picked up the phrase 'material reality' I don't think Amber understands what it means though.

PencilsInSpace · 13/02/2017 19:33

Do they maybe just hate anybody who isn't them, Diana? Confused

mirrorisnotmyfriend · 13/02/2017 19:35

They did post a very helpful article called "Why Cis Isn't An Oppressive Term" which was super interesting because I disliked being described as cis but after reading their fun list of why it's OK to be called cis I now love that term and recognise that my objection to it was just because I am a hateful cis bigot and I should

"Sit in the discomfort of having your privilege pointed out and think critically about how the different forms of oppression you benefit from permeate our society."

Real words from their rules section everydayfeminism.com/about-ef/comments-policy/
