They come up with this.

First post - Why Transwomen Aren't Biologically Male.
www.facebook.com/everydayfeminism/

The comments are encouraging though, that is, the ones that haven't been deleted. Lots of people questioning and calling this out.

Bit rude and sweary but I like the ranting monkey's rants about Riley.

Seachangeshell · 12/02/2017 19:40

So many of them describe themselves as 'queer'. What do they mean by that?

Twunk · 12/02/2017 19:55

Who fucking knows what queer is anymore? They've appropriated so much language it's turning into newspeak

riobruins · 12/02/2017 20:09

Basically anyone trans or not heterosexual can use it to describe themselves. I saw someone the other day ask if they could use it to describe themselves as like have been attracted to a woman once in their life but are mainly attracted to men. Quite a lot of people still don't like the term. I personally don't, I'm more than happy using lesbian or gay. I've been told that queer is more inclusive and I should use it over lesbian as that excludes people. All that makes me want to do is never use queer.

shins · 12/02/2017 20:09

Notice what trivial frivolous fuckers most of them are? Very light on the normal dayjobs and kids, heavy on the pop culture, made-up jobs and wacky pets. I'd say they're all unpaid interns with trust funds up the wazoo.

M0stlyBowlingHedgehog · 12/02/2017 20:17

I'm feeling a bit excluded by that group of "beautiful people" (does this count as actual violence?) I don't see anyone like me - a middle aged single parent keeping a roof over DC's head on less than the national median wage, who frankly has neither the time, energy nor inclination to worry about whether I'm a demi-boi, pansexual or indeed skinny latte frapuccino.

BBCNewsRave · 12/02/2017 20:27

Exactly, MOstly. It almost seems as if there's some other kind of discrimination that's based on not being a "beautiful person". It's not the first time I've noticed it but I can't pin it down either. It's weirdly the opposite of social justice movements and yet the priviledged utitlise social justice for their own ends.

Datun · 12/02/2017 20:48

For me it's quite heartening that they are a bunch of inexperienced, naval gazing, right-on kids.

It means they will grow up when real life smacks them in the face.

This.

So scrolling around the Facebook page I found this: everydayfeminism.com/2017/02/embrace-my-gender-identity/

Well I don't think it's unfair to say if you present as "femme" have a chosen to use a female name and pronouns, have no desire to behave or be treated as a man and you don't tell anyone you feel trans then I'm sorry to say you aren't.

How can they not see what a convoluted cycle of bullshit it is?! It's just a huge specialest snowflake competition!

The video is just as bad. The logical fallacies just come thick and fast don't they! Can't wait for a magdalen burns takedown.

PencilsInSpace · 12/02/2017 21:55

I've sent myself half-mad trying to plough through the comments on that FB thread today Confused

Every so often I do my best to go in to a discussion like that with an open mind and really try to understand where people are coming from, just in case I've missed something and it turns out I am exercising some sort of privilege I wasn't aware of.

But no. It is total, total bollocks. I have read pages and pages of cognitive dissonance and double think and have come away with two conclusions:

  1. Nothing means anything anymore and we are therefore all fucked.
  2. Intersex people's experiences are being very badly appropriated by the transagenda.

I've had it with trying to understand, I no longer care if I'm labelled a TERF or a bigot or on the wrong side of history. I'm not going to try to wrap my head around this gaslighty shite any longer because it's bad for my MH and it's bad for women and girls everywhere.

Rebecca Reilly-Cooper was indeed fantastic Smile

VestalVirgin · 12/02/2017 21:55

You just gotta love how they admit that male privilege starts in elementary school but still pretend that MtT have never had male privilege.

The doublethink required for that makes my brain hurt.

Um, I would quite like to be treated as a man, i.e. with respect, and as a potential target only for robbery, not rape. Would make my life a lot easier.

Not trans. Just an ordinary woman. We would all quite like to not be treated like subhuman fucktoilets. It is in no way unusual.

Twogoats · 12/02/2017 22:06

I'm starting to think that some of these trans women are actually men just having a laugh at the whole thing? I'm thinking of doing it myself actually! Telling everyone I'm now a trans woman and seeing the reaction I get. After all, if bio women and trans women look the same, how will anyone know?!?

Aliasnumberone · 12/02/2017 22:11

Rebecca has been deleted Angry

hoddtastic · 12/02/2017 22:11

they've taken an 'argument' of scientific racism there, and attempted to apply it to sex.

(race is invisible, totally socially constructed as there might be some slight differences within DNA but very few people would see that so race is also a social construct)

222CherryCoke · 12/02/2017 22:48

So disgusted that Rebecca's articulate, measured, intelligent comments were deleted. They each had about 50 likes, too.

shins · 12/02/2017 22:50

I've been blocked! Ah well. Not bad for my first post.

shins · 12/02/2017 22:53

But, but 170 million people in the world aren't xx/xy binary! As someone there said. Sad

riobruins · 12/02/2017 23:09

I think they may have just compared sex to the earth is flat and gender to the earth is round in their latest comment.

shins · 12/02/2017 23:15

Yes they are Galileo and we are the crazed medieval monks.

venusinscorpio · 12/02/2017 23:21

Oh yes, I'm sure we are. And Galileo was like, really oppressed too, so it's a totally neat analogy.

shins · 12/02/2017 23:45

They've deleted a comment from a transwoman who said "I'm trans but of course I'm a biological male, don't tell me what I am" - got over 50 likes but still zapped! It's just devouring itself at this rate, this insane ideology.

venusinscorpio · 12/02/2017 23:50

I saw that comment, the transactivist fuckwits didn't seem to know how to respond to him. Not surprised it was deleted, for that reason alone.

TalkingintheDark · 13/02/2017 00:01

What, they've deleted that one too? I missed all of Rebecca's comments but I saw that one just now, wow.

What's the betting that the one that says how the site is nicknamed Everyday Transactivism will be next to go?

Yes, it really is devouring itself.

shins · 13/02/2017 00:15

It's almost hilarious, lots of posts decrying the terfs and the transphobes all over the thread but I have not seen a single gender critical post that wasn't polite and reasonable and attempting to engage. All immediately deleted nonetheless.
