Feminisim and small penis jokes

I just read an amazing article about how many small penis jokes feminists tell. That seems to fly in the face of anti-body-shaming. I would love to discuss.

I am a man cursed with the problem, i am a feminist and work with an organization that helps women entrepreneurs. I am curious if you know how painful it is for a man like me to hear?

Ok, so it's good to hear a mans perspective on 'body shaming' for once, and on the most it's nice to hear some actually sympathy here.

But as I said on other threads to women who were victimising themselves for no reaseon...

Penis jokes are funny, as are women jokes. You cannot instill your OTT emotional stability onto others, if you are hurt by small penis jokes don't go and watch feminist comedians, and avoid people who are happy to laugh at anything for every reason.

I am a bit staggered that regular mumsnet users haven't seen insults about small penises! Honestly it's rife!

I still can't say I think it's something feminists need to be acting on- but I will always jump on it when it comes up

Don't play dumb, there are a ton of self proclaimed feminist comedians who use those type of jokes, Cummings and Schumer are off the top of my head.

It isn't just feminist comedians either, all comedians do to some extent, and so they should!

I've never heard of Cummings. (Cue penis joke) and I've never heard schumers small penis set.

I found Amy telling a personal anecdote about a big penis blindgossip.com/?p=72666 - although her punchline was more about the suggestion she'd get a 'gaping vagina' - ie humour pointed at herself than at other people.

I have heard her making lots of sex related jokes - she seems to be pretty equal on which genitals she's talking about though - I wouldn't say that small penis jokes were a primary part of her comedy for instance.

Who said 'set' or 'staple'?

If your offended by small penis jokes going to see Cummings and Schumer puts you at a high risk of hearing one, just avoid most comedians, comedy shows and the internet...

That said your probably more likely to get brought on stage and ridiculed for your political view at a Schumer show.

I've literally said if you don't like small penis jokes avoid comedy. In your world thats an insult?

I was one of those woman on another thread who you accused of victimising myself by being sexually harassed in the street. So there's one.

There's another one. And that's just on this thread. It's very tiresome to read, and if you think you're changing or challenging anyone's views around here, can I just tell you - that isn't happening.

Don't play dumb is a very reasonable response to someone questioning whether feminists make fun of penis's, which way did that incur insult? Please uantify the level of insult you felt?

If that is insulting then you are on the same wave as the OP, maybe a discussion thread where you may here alternative opinion isn't the best place for you?

I've been thinking about this thread today.

I've come to the conclusion I don't actually care. Boo hoo, some men's poor feelings are hurt by other people (mainly men tbf) telling them they have teeny peens.

Come back when you face the real possibility every day of your life of being raped or murdered and we'll talk about your bruised feelings then.

Let's just ignore this thread. Small penis jokes are not something feminism should concern itself with and frankly, it annoys me that it is at the top of the tread list.

If the MRAs want to do something for men instead of against women for a change, they can protest against the jokes.

You know how I know i'm not changing views, because this echo chamber is a safe and warm place to come and be agreed with. It's not very brave to sit and agree with everything thats said, with people who yu know agree with you. It is comforting, but isn't helpfull.

You know how I know I am challenging views, because I am, and have provided facts and evidence. It may seem like I'm banging my head against a brick wall, but if one person listens and decides to critically think for themselves then I've done my job, and that is the fight I fight every day as a feminist, I bang my head, and reach people eventually.

PS Men are murdered at twice the rate of women, how does that statistic impact men do you think?

Really, Pizan, I think you need to work on your memory. It's about three days since you suggested that I needed to smile more on the catcalling thread, and maybe then men in the street wouldn't harass me?

Because all I see from you is bluster and an underlying dislike of women, which doesn't look like any feminism I ever saw.

None of that is me accusing you of playing the victim for street harrassment.

If women kept telling me to smile, I would look inward, similarly if men kept telling me to smile, I would also not be fearfull enough to consider this street harrassment.

I also don't accuse people who disagree with me as being dishonest, I challenge dishonest posts made as dishonest, such as your accusation here is dishonest!

However, 90% of all murderers are men.

And 80% of women victims are murdered by someone they know.

Male violence is a huge problem. Men having the size of their junk mocked really really isn't.
