Would anyone mind if I started a thread about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard here?

Because quite frankly I'm getting sick of all the misogynist crap I'm seeing everywhere else about this.

I've said this before but I'll say it again. There could be a clear video of Johnny beating the shit out of Amber released tomorrow and there would still be people defending him whilst slagging her off - "he was drunk so he probably didn't know what he was doing", "she probably provoked him", "it's a lie!", "it's fake!", etc.

He could probably even beat her to a pulp on a red carpet in front of cameras and people would still be falling at his feet Angry.

Given all the evidence it is actually far more likely that he has been abusive towards her than it is she is making the whole thing up, yet people are still defending him and calling her a liar.

Even people who believe he has been abusive towards her still seem to defend him and blame her. Someone on Facebook said this morning that he probably had hit her but she had it coming and must have done something to deserve it ShockAngry

I can easily believe that Depp 'turned into an abuser' when he started a relationship with Heard because he has a long history of violence. He has even admitted himself that he has a temper and has been arrested for assaulting people in the past. It is really not too much of a stretch to believe he could hit his wife.

And Heard was arrested for assaulting her partner but her partner has always denied there was any abuse in their relationship and that the allegations of abuse (made by an outside party btw, not her partner herself) was nothing more than homophobia. That's not even mentioning the fact that Heard was never charged let alone convicted and as people keep saying when the roles are reversed...innocent until proven guilty. Wink

MyBestFriendIsAHamster · 13/03/2019 16:44

I am the OP btw.

I do not feel silly for starting this thread. I still stand by every word I said.

MargeB · 13/03/2019 16:46

How would you feel if you had been publicly hounded and labelled as an abuser for 3 years, and only now we're getting to see what the truth is, that you were in fact the victim? Or are you saying that the 80 plus witnesses referenced in the suit, under oath (including police officers) are lying? Or that the bruises and severed finger are self-inflicted?

Jackson has a long history, going back to the 80s. We're meant to believe that Depp suddenly turned into an abuser with no prior history. And we're ignoring the fact that Heard was arrested for domestic abuse herself. And we are ignoring the countless witness statements in the new suit that are calling Heard a liar, including police officers.

And no, substance abuse doesnt automatically lead to being an abuser. My ex had a serious drink problem, I can vouch that he was never violent.

MyBestFriendIsAHamster · 13/03/2019 16:47

Are we forgetting the suspicious bruises Amber Hears had throughout the course of their relationship? Why is it so hard to believe that he could have hit her?

If Depp had bruises too then what makes you so sure they weren't as a result of self defence on Heards part?

I think you should stop both jumping to conclusions and lying to be perfectly honest with you.

MyBestFriendIsAHamster · 13/03/2019 16:50

And you're ignoring the fact that Heard was accused of domestic abuse by a homophobic security guard, as backed up by her partner at the time. You're also ignoring the fact that her partner denied there was any abuse in her relationship with Heard and defended her.

Depp has hardly been hounded. People have defended him like crazy since the abuse allegations emerged and swept any evidence that he could have done it under the carpet.

MyBestFriendIsAHamster · 13/03/2019 16:51

And Johnny Depp has a long history of violence. No idea why you keep insisting he doesn't.

MargeB · 13/03/2019 17:00

Depp has hardly been hounded? Do you not recall Twitter inundating JK Rowling with crap when he was cast in the Harry Potter prequel? She was getting all kinds of abuse. Or the fact that he was splashed all over the news as a violent wife beater?

But of coure, Depp punched himself in the face, severed his own finger! Let's ignore the 80 plus witness statements, under oath, stating Heard is lying. Maybe Depp has paid them all, including police officers who were called to the scene, and got them to lie under oath for him? Pull the other one.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 13/03/2019 17:00

Or are you saying that the 80 plus witnesses referenced in the suit, under oath (including police officers) are lying? Or that the bruises and severed finger are self-inflicted?

First point, haven’t seen their affidavits, have you? We don’t know what they’re saying.
Second point, no, there was a different reason given at the time, I believe it was a drunken incident.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 13/03/2019 17:03

How would you feel if you had been publicly hounded and labelled as an abuser for 3 years, and only now we're getting to see what the truth is, that you were in fact the victim?

You don’t know if it’s the truth, you don’t know the details.

Why are you so ready to believe him but not her?

Why are you ignoring the details of the homophobic and false accusations of abuse?

Why are you ignoring the other violent incidents he’s been involved in?

Have you read his previous managements statements about him? Being delusional and refusing to take their advice?

Answer these questions.

User07734 · 13/03/2019 17:04

Yeah it was terrible that after being given a part in a huge movie that someone questioned it.
Why the poor man must be on the breadline.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 13/03/2019 17:06

Tbh I would question his being given parts right now on the basis he hasn’t given a good performance in a long time, often looks like a drunken mess and there are currently better actors!!

User07734 · 13/03/2019 17:06

Why are you so ready to believe him but not her

Because she faaaaancies him.

Marg and Johnny sitting in a tree.

Look we all fancied him --before he became a real life withered pirate- but that doesn't change the fact that he's drug addled creep now.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 13/03/2019 17:08

He could just sell his castle or cut back on the few hundred thousand he spends a month on booze, if he’s hard up for cash. But I guess he’s having more fun suing a woman who doesn’t have the 50 million he’s asking for.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 13/03/2019 17:10

I fancied him so much! I was around back in the days of 21 jump street. It has no bearing on my ability to recognise an abuser.

You know my Dad abused the hell out of us, threatened to kill my brother... kicked the shit out of Mum.., and after 16 years he came to attack me again and I had had enough, so I got my hands around his neck. He kicked me out for my ‘aggressive behaviour’. Still tells people I attacked him too.

User07734 · 13/03/2019 17:10

I'm going to stop buying the big issue and start putting into the "Save Johnnys castle" fund.

Terrible sad.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 13/03/2019 17:11

Yeah he got annoyed at his advisors who told him to sell it. It upset his daughter as it was he home she grew up in. My DD has lived in 8 different homes, we rent. She’s fine.

Basically same here. Funny that. Almost like abusive men aren't always honest.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 13/03/2019 17:17

Who would have thought?

And for you Flowers

MargeB · 13/03/2019 17:35

I just think its sickening that he's been dragged through the mud, when it looks like he's the one who was abused!

Ive actually read the law-suit this morning, and its disgusting. What I find appalling is the amount of people who were jumping all over this 3 years ago calling him an abuser, at least some on social media have had the grace to apologize, unlike the posters here or can't admit they joined in a witch hunt and accused an innocent man.

Just one snipper from the law-suit states - Heard’s false allegations against Mr. Depp have been conclusively refuted by two separate responding police officers, a litany of neutral third-party witnesses, and newly obtained surveillance camera videos.

One incident even involves her making false accusations that she was being hit, when she called him to their penthouse to pick up personal items, unaware that his security team (including a LA county officer) were in the next room! Makes you wonder why Depp felt the need to turn up with security and an officer to collect his things doesnt it?

To answer the previous question that Amber Heards arrest was down to homophobia, actually do some research! She was arrested for hitting his partner, grabbing her arm and pulling her necklace off her neck. The arresting officer, far from being homophobic, was actually a OPENLY GAY WOMAN. Office Leonard, far from being homophobic, partook in Pride marches. "Now, Officer Leonard is speaking out. As far as she is concerned, she did the job she was hired to do and intervened properly in a case of domestic violence between Tasya and Amber Heard."

Sources close to Beverly, who has since retired from her career as a cop, say that she’s “indignant.” Leonard is clear that it wasn’t non-existent homophobia that motivated her to arrest Amber. She took Amber to jail because Heard was “breaking the law.”

According to Leonard, Van Ree (Heard's ex) wasn’t eager to forgive Amber at the time of the altercation and didn’t act as if it was a lovers’ spat. She was “extremely upset with Amber” and showed the cops evidence of Amber’s violence. Police records show that there was “property damage,” and Beverly remembers seeing Tasya’s broken pendant.

So let's drop the 'Heard getting arrested for domestic violence' because it was a homophobic cop' crap, and admit that, yes Heard has been arrested, for DV in the past.

AuntieCJ · 13/03/2019 17:42

I believe him. Never believed her for a moment.

MyBestFriendIsAHamster · 13/03/2019 17:42

Nobody here has denied she was arrested.

The police officer may have been a lesbian but the security guard who made the allegations wasn't. Hence it being nothing more than homophobia.

Interesting how the police officer also let Heard go without charge, isn't It? Hmm

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 13/03/2019 17:45

accused an innocent man.

You have no idea if that’s true.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 13/03/2019 17:48

MargeB So you’re a big fan of his then?

None of what you’ve said above is new. Why did he settle and release the previous statement? Why haven’t you answered my other questions?

MargeB · 13/03/2019 17:51

Sorry - the police officer WITNESSED IT - not the security guard!

"The police officer who arrested Amber Heard in 2009 for domestic violence is speaking out against accusations that she was “homophobic” and “misogynistic” during the arrest.

Heard’s former girlfriend, Tasya van Ree, issued a statement to PEOPLE about the incident, in which Heard allegedly grabbed and struck her arm, during an altercation at Seattle airport, calling the situation “over-sensationalized.” She also said the cops had “misogynistic attitudes” and appeared to be “homophobic.”

In a statement posted to Facebook on Thursday, the arresting officer, Beverly Leonard – who happens to be a gay woman – responded to the accusations.

“I am so not homophobic or mysoginistic! The arrest was made because an assault occurred (I witnessed it) and the parties were in a domestic relationship,” she wrote.

Leonard also thanked whoever leaked photos from her Facebook page showing her support for gay rights, saying “I wanted to personally thank you for setting the record straight.”

Heard was accused of hitting van Ree, and was taken in for booking. She faced the charge in court the next day, but prosecutors decided against pursuing the count as both she and Tasya were residents of California, not Washington.

AngelsSins · 13/03/2019 17:56

Funny how no one says “I hate abussive and/or violent men, they’re the reason why innocent men are not believed”. No, it’s always the much smaller percentage of women that lie that get blamed, almost as if there’s some weird double standard at play, but that couldn’t possibly be true.....

Oh and innocent until proven guilty Marge, that doesn’t just apply to men you know?
