I assume he's never been a woman?

Would he similarly think a black person telling him about racism was dramatic, I wonder?

FGM, rape, street harassment, equal pay, Abortion rights... Which of those does he think feminists dramatise?

Just keep asking him what he means. Why does he think feminists are dramatic?

It is difficult to make statements about what feminists believe because we are a heterogenous bunch. Different feminists believe different things. I found it most helpful to work out what I believe and then talk about that.

I have a pet hate of being spoken for, I do not automatically agree with statements about what feminists do or do not do and do or do not believe. I do not speak for other feminists either, nor for other women unless I am clear that I speak about my experience both as a woman and as a member of the class of women, a set of inferences that has its limits.

So, if I am told that feminists hate men, I say, well, this is not the case, and I am your proof by counter-example.

I am fun to be around, honest.

I will immediately stop being a feminist.
