Sorry I can't link but it's on the BBC site.

I hope you're not implying Ched Evans is a rapist. He's a non-rapist now the justice system has spoken.

Isitadoubleentendre · 14/10/2016 14:45

Gutted. Just gutted.

NinjaFeminist · 14/10/2016 14:45

UnfuckingbelievableAngry

GingerIvy · 14/10/2016 14:45

This is a massive step backwards. How appalling.

WomanWithAltitude · 14/10/2016 14:45

They only spent a couple of hours debating it.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 14/10/2016 14:45

Any ideas as to what we can do

SpeakNoWords · 14/10/2016 14:46

Fuck. Total travesty. Poor girl, she'll be tried by the press now, and no doubt Ched Evans' odious relations too. The whole thing stinks.

FriendofBill · 14/10/2016 14:46

Oh my God.

What the fuck have they done...

venusinscorpio · 14/10/2016 14:46

Women's rights are going backwards in every way.

GingerIvy · 14/10/2016 14:46

While we likely can't change this outcome, surely there is some way we can push that this type of thing (trial of the victim by hashing through her sex life) doesn't continue to occur ??

WomanWithAltitude · 14/10/2016 14:46

Liney - she will be entitled to exactly the same protection ad previously. Nothing has changed in that respect.

The fact that he has been found not guilty does not remove her anonymity or anything like that.

FriendofBill · 14/10/2016 14:47

Yes, what can we do?

11122aa · 14/10/2016 14:47

Im not suprised.
What the odds on her name trending on twitter at some point today. I really can see it. Twitter doesn't react that quick to stop it.
What's a route to verdict? Ive never heard of that despite studying law for two years now.

I really do feel as though there should be some direct action from women in relation to this. I can't even imagine how that woman is feeling and I wish we could somehow send a message that she is believed.

redandblackwhitething · 14/10/2016 14:47

What a world to bring our daughters up in

WomanWithAltitude · 14/10/2016 14:48

Ginger - women have been campaigning against that for decades with little result. It's not allowed by default, but judges still grant orders allowing it to be raised.

YNK · 14/10/2016 14:48

I feel sick!

GingerIvy · 14/10/2016 14:48

It's going to be open season on young women out clubbing now. Angry

LizardBreath · 14/10/2016 14:49

Awful. That poor, poor woman.

I pity his wife and children.

Aquasport · 14/10/2016 14:49

Absolutely gutted I'm truly truly appalled

BaronessEllaSaturday · 14/10/2016 14:49

I try to have faith in our justice system but how the hell can you when things like this happen.

GingerIvy · 14/10/2016 14:50

WWA I know. It's awful. Surely something can be done about it? This was just a blatant character assassination on this woman, just for being a normal woman.

InTheseFlipFlops · 14/10/2016 14:50

So it's ok to just stick your penis in. She'll soon complain if she doesn't want it there. Forget fight, flight, freeze

For fucks sake. After reading twitter I knew it would go that way, so many people believe it's ok. It just takes a jury of them and he's not guilty.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 14/10/2016 14:50

When i did jury service the judge gave us a flowchart to help us with the verdict

So i cant exactly remember what ours said but something like

Do you believe the accused went to the party because he belived the victim would be there

So The answer to that one was yes because the accused had said that

If yes the next questions was do you believe that the accused habitually carried a knife,0? If yes.... If no

Etc
