Ched Evans wins appeal

Sorry I can't link but it's on the BBC site.

The victim did not report a rape - she reported a missing handbag and the fact she had no idea what had happened. The police pieced together the events from what they were told by Evans, the hotel staff and others

He must be kicking himself that he didn't give a 'no comment' interview - lending some credence to his version of events, perhaps. Presumably, the police disclosed its evidence to him via his Solicitor.

LineyReborn · 24/04/2016 11:15

The nature of the new evidence has not been made public, at the behest of the appeal judges.

I don't know what it is, quite rightly. Ched Evans and those close to him know what it is. Maybe that's quite a wide circle of people.

If Ched Evans supporters are speculating about it on internet sites such as this, isn't that an abuse of process?

RudeElf · 24/04/2016 12:36

I would imagine so liney. Who would this need to be flagged up to?

NewYearNewToads · 24/04/2016 12:51

How does pubes know so much about what the new evidence consists of?

RudeElf · 24/04/2016 12:58

Thats why i was asking if pubes is lucky enough to be either his mother or girlfriend.

AnyFucker · 24/04/2016 13:08

I reckon it's his deluded sister

weirdsister · 24/04/2016 13:47

Pubes may have had a bit too much to drink last night and forgot that she/he isn't supposed to discuss the new 'evidence' on an open forum.

DURRRRR

NewYearNewToads · 24/04/2016 13:56

Pubes may have had a bit too much to drink last night and forgot that she/he isn't supposed to discuss the new 'evidence' on an open forum.

Either that or he's bullshitting.

And of courses, there have been convictions of some of the people (relatives and friends of CE) involved in hounding/maligning the woman www.theguardian.com/uk/2012/nov/05/ched-evans-rape-naming-woman

cadno · 24/04/2016 15:23

VikingVolva

Thank you for that, although that's not the Court transcript. Rather it is the Judgement handed down from the Court of Appeal following Evans' application in the first place for leave to appeal. That particular application was refused. [Then he applied to the Criminal Cases Review Commission - it was they that referred the matter to the Court of Appeal to look at the conviction - and they, of course, quashed it and ordered a retrial.

A court transcript would look like the script of a play.

I am unable to open www.footylaw.co.uk

I was aware that there had been some convictions of a number of people for naming the complainant, but I've not seen any evidence that Evans himself had been implicated in any conspiracy/ incitement to do so. Had he done so whilst on licence he would have been returned into custody to serve the remainder of his sentence.

AdventuresOfADentist · 24/04/2016 22:19

Thanks for the links Viking, that's really helpful.

I will be so mad if he is found guilty at the retrial. His whole camp and all the misogynists will have a field day.

AdventuresOfADentist · 24/04/2016 22:19

*NOT guilty, that should say!! Blush

LineyReborn · 25/04/2016 09:07

RudeElf I daresay the Crown Prosecution Service might be interested.

clam · 25/04/2016 09:50

Yes, I agree that if he is found to be Not Guilty at the new trial (and I have a feeling he will be), it will be hard to watch the consequent crowing as he champions his innocence and leaves court "without a stain on his character" (as John Leslie said).

Pretty big stain, I would say, judging by what went on that night, whether or not it is officially defined as rape. Natasha Massey needs her head examining.

PalmerViolet · 09/05/2016 20:03

I think you have the wrong thread. This is about Evans, not the case in that article. Or possibly you have linked the wrong article?

RufusTheReindeer · 09/05/2016 20:45

Its been posted in both ched threads

PalmerViolet · 09/05/2016 21:30

And another thread about "We believe you" which suggests to me that the poster is a GF with an axe to grind.

RufusTheReindeer · 09/05/2016 21:50

I did think that...

And post and run...thats a bit fucking gutless as well

whatnow123 · 20/06/2016 17:04

He's been signed by Chesterfield.

PalmerViolet · 21/06/2016 14:17

Which just goes to prove how low men will go so they can watch 22 millionaires in their underwear running around after a bag of wind.

He's asked for 'time to settle in'

I hope he gets just as much time to settle as his family, friends and supporters gave his victim.

twittwooery · 21/06/2016 19:48

Except at the moment he is an innocent man, and fans don't have a say in who the club signs Palmer

PalmerViolet · 21/06/2016 22:03

You believe that if it makes you happy.

Petal40 · 21/06/2016 22:13

I don't understand why any club would touch him with a barge pole ....I'm sad to think he will play again..he is a rapist and as such has no place in front of impressionable young teens

ZerenaZZ · 21/06/2016 22:30

How have those who've stalked and harassed his victim to the point where she's had to change her identity multiple times, not been charged? For encouraging that he should be charged too.
