So I was a bit confused about all the anti-trans posts in here. I didn't get it really. Transsexuals are victims, minorities, etc., why are you lot against them?

Now I have seen the story of Rachel Dolezal:

cdn.necolebitchie.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Rachel-Dolezal-10.png

who decided she was black and became a local NAACP president. When it was discovered that she wasn't, basically everyone has said she has no right to do this.

And suddenly it all makes sense to me. If we do not accept that people can make a relatively minor change from one skin pigmentation to another, and that a white person cannot become black, then we sure as hell shouldn't accept that a man with different bone, muscle, sexual organs, brain, chromosomes, and god knows what else, can POSSIBLY be a woman. And he CERTAINLY should not be participating in women's sports and other female spaces.

It's absurd, and it just makes you wonder why it is that if transracialism is so roundly rejected (no, you are not a black person, you are a white person with a bit of bronzer and an Afro), why we don't say that a transsexual is not in fact a woman, but simply a man in a dress.

I see that people are studying transgender brains to try and claim similarities with women.

But yet another parallel with race is that such research (comparing races for brain power) is considered to be racist and unacceptable.

A person is, as I understand it, allowed to call themselves black if they have black ancestry, even if they look like/are a white person (as apparently happens quite a lot).

HarveySpectre · 15/06/2015 16:12

What do you mean 'allowed to' quarter? Allowed by who? In what context? I don't understand what you are saying

HarveySpectre · 15/06/2015 16:13

We all have black ancestry Confused

Essentially I don't have a horse in this race, as a man if a woman transitioning to a man wants to use male spaces that's cool with me, and I'll endeavor to treat them how they wish to be treated.

However what goes on in women's spaces had got to be up to the women surely? And furthermore I mean the women who currently occupy them. If a significant number of women have concerns then those concerns absolutely shouldn't be ignored.

If trans activists want to change those concerns then it needs to happen organically through negotiating and awareness raising, not through appeals to the state to force the issue.

The peak trans train has definitely visited my station.

HermioneWeasley · 15/06/2015 19:47

heckler was it a real life incident, or from discussion here?

Heckler · 15/06/2015 20:15

From the fact that statistics on 'women' committing violent crimes, running companies, winning awards, both good stuff and bad stuff, is not women any more.

FloraFox · 15/06/2015 20:23

Hmm I see the graphic I posted about Rachel B and Jenner was deleted. Not sure if it was that or the statement about Jenner masturbating in Jenner's DD's clothes or because I "missgendered" Jenner when saying that. I sure as hell am never going to say "she" put on "her" daughter's clothes and masturbated. That's a very specific fetish that men enact and women don't.

HermioneWeasley · 15/06/2015 20:29

Thanks heckler

I think mine was trans women competing against women in sport - Fallon Fox just beating women up, it was so ugly - misogyny in plain sight

Heckler · 15/06/2015 20:40

Oh

That too. The sport thing.

Heckler · 15/06/2015 20:41

Or more accurately the male beating up a female.
