On the London Marathon 2015 runners medal there are 2 runners depicted - both men. It's like women don't run marathons, raise millions for charity while doing so and who the heck is Paula Radcliffe?:

yes sarcastic - it's like she never existed. Women are invisible on the London Marathon Medal. Why? If you are depicting 2 runners on a medal to give to all the competitors in a massive sporting event, why wouldn't one of those runners be a woman?

Err....I am not an expert on 1990s culture by any means but I spent about 10 seconds thinking about this before The Spice Girls sprang to mind.

As for Paula Radcliffe she is an amazing athlete. And I am full of admiration for anyone who can finish the London marathon. So why only men on the medals?

This isn't a case of no women at all, but DD got Guess Who out the other day. I haven't played it for about 26 years and instantly remembered that there were about 20 men and about 5 women. I assumed times have changed - eight women this time, I think. Wtaf is that about - as if men are default and women 'other'. Really pissed me off

Why are there so few Jews and Muslims in parliament? It's time we demanded quotas and affirmative action so Jews and Muslims can have as many seats in parliament as Christians.

I would agree that the makeup of our parliament should reflect our society, in terms of sex, sexuality, religion (and none!), disability and so on and so forth. I mean you're never going to get it exact but at the moment it is way off.

Representation seems to be more representative of the people at local level maybe. There are lots of female / non white etc council members around here. It seems to drop off the higher up the "food chain" you go.
