I tweeted some selfies... guess what happened next?

Some nasty little troll (one that i know of) has taken screenshots / saved my selfies and my bio and has tweeted about i should commit suicide, and just generally, with one or two of their followers, ripped into me. They feel sorry for my kids, i probably fucked and "alpha" and stung a "beta" for child support, tweeting about the correct "alpha" response to child support claims with a photo of a woman being punched in the stomach, laughing about how im fat, and as if i can be fussy.
None was tweeted to me, i found it because the person tweeted me and i nosed through their timeline.
Why is it so offensive to them that a fat, feminist woman would dare to quite like themselves?

Because they don't like themselves.

This is just what I don't like about social media.
I don't do any of it, (no means), but if I had, I wouldn't.
As a fat, happy woman who really hasn't had any issues about her image, this kind of thing would really affect me. Face-to-face, I have dealt with/ignored comments and pointed looks.
OP - people who do this are lower than any kind of lowlife thing. Think about the young saddo in his tissue strewn stinking bedroom.
Yuk.
You have us x and a (((hug)))

Er, what sort of unthinking illiterate assumes that feminism equals man hating?...

madwomanbackintheattic · 20/05/2015 18:01

That was a rhetorical question, in case of concern. I'm more than aware of the anti-intellectual movement. Grin and the laziness or Goady fuckeriness that leads to sweeping assumptions around feminism and man hating. Grin

YonicScrewdriver · 20/05/2015 18:01

One who has been banned many times before, mad.

OP, hope you are ok. Some people are utter bellends.

I am fascinated though. Were you making a point about cultural norms and offering yourself as an antithesis? (a visibility exercise?)

Or tweeting your friends to show a new haircut or something?

I can see that the one might have caused a reaction in some quarters, but the other, not so much...?

Have done thanks.

They don't really like logic or rational thought there.

You'll feel right at home though.

Um, no. But thanks for amply proving my point.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 20/05/2015 18:17

Op, the trolls felt threatened because you reminded them some women don't give a toss about male approval and the male gaze.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 20/05/2015 18:19

Zayyele's response to "what sort of unthinking illiterate assumes that feminism equals man hating?" - 'plenty' - is unthinkingly as hilarious as it is apposite!

GinAndSonic · 20/05/2015 18:19

The first I suppose mad, and yeah, i understand that it brings the knuckledraggers out, but i dont see why i should stay off the internet because im fat. I wasnt naked, i wasnt in revealing clothes. I was fully clothed. My crime is apparently wearing horizontal stripes, and i should add vertical stripes by slitting my wrists correctly.
They didnt even have the balls to tweet it to me, just tweeting amongst themselves about it. Its pretty vile to read that sort of thing about yourself.
Yes, i hate men, obviously, thats why i have relationships with them Hmm although, my tongue in cheek reference to liking a particular type of guy in my bio has also drawn shit, im too fat to be picky apparently. Im pretty certain theres a certain amount of "fake geek girl" shit going on here too.
Im ok, im angry, and fucking perplexed at the mentality of people who have nothing better to do than troll women online.

Absolutely spot on TheCountess

GinAndSonic · 20/05/2015 18:24

I dont hate men. My best friend is a man. With a penis and everything. Proper male. Hes fab and i adore him. I have a son. Also male. Hes fab.
I hate ARSEHOLES, regardless of their sex.

OP posts:
PuffinsAreFictitious · 20/05/2015 18:27

Gin, very few people hate men. It's just convenient for complete and utter idiots to believe that feminists do. It stops them having to tax their tiny minds by actually thinking about issues or leaving their comfort zone. It's quite sad really, such closed mindedness is more to be pitied than censured.

BitOutOfPractice · 20/05/2015 18:35

Oh OP how horrible. I hope you're OK

Have you got screen shots? I think you should inform the police. They take this kind of stuff very seriously now

emmelinelucas · 20/05/2015 18:35

No matter what you look like, I think you are still troll fodder.
If you were skinny you would still be called fat/ugly/minging/a slag.
That is how trolls work.
I have seen it.
Meh. I am so glad that I am not young. Not that it helps you, OP.
Ignore.
Ignore.
