That was reference to Buffy telling me things I might already know. I dont

King1982 · 30/04/2015 18:52

No it doesn't exclude. I'm too proud to ask, so I google.

King1982 · 30/04/2015 18:53

What does a health intervention look like/entail?

They look quite regular. Like specialist schools, extra half an hour and coloured paper for dyslexic students.
They are test to help students that need mental or physical needs met to find support.
I suppose it's a bit like SATS to put you in the right group to maximise your educational potential and those around you.

When I looked up school health interventions. They talked about testing students to make sure that their physical and mental health needs are met so that they can maximise their education experience.
I assume that is wrong, what is a school health intervention?

PuffinsAreFictitious · 01/05/2015 06:05

An example would be the healthy plate/healthy eating that children learn about in PHSE.

The stuff you mentioned are examples of educational interventions, to improve learning. SATS don't stream.

Schools are often 10 years behind though. We know now that good fats are good and high carb is bad yet it will take schools and the NHS about 20 years to get up to date with latest science and understand that our original natural way of eating was best. The problem with giving schools too many powers is they tell children in effect lies about what are good foods and which are not.

And yet, you came here to tell us that you don't want to play with us.

So, you're not what you deem to be a real man either. How sad for you.

Hope you find some way of being happy, sorry you're not now, even if you are a fuckwit.

HelenaDove · 02/05/2015 21:53

What would you advise in this situation King. How would education have helped here.

  1. Obesity is one of our biggest challenges on the planet. We now have more humans dying of obesity related diseases than famine for the first time on the planet and it's the first recent generation to die off earlier than its parents due to being fat.
  1. Eating fake unnatural products that include additives, sucralose and all the rest is not a great way to go. Better to eat less 1 or 2 meals a day and only eat natural foods. Eat real protein, eat eggs, eat fish don't buy expensive potions.
  1. The model in the ad of course does exactly what I suggest - eats healthy whole foods. In fact I think she's vegan. She is not eating fake manufactured products all the time like this one which do not grow on trees.

For women all over the world. Solidarity!!!

PuffinsAreFictitious · 03/05/2015 13:16

Sorry, Suzan, failing to see what a picture from a pro choice group has to do with fake protein. Care to explain?

Lotus, the best way to eat is actually to have around 5 small meals everyday.

YonicScrewdriver · 03/05/2015 14:10

King, have you read Caitlin Moran on comfort eating and carers? Very few people don't know that chocolate and crisps are unhealthy. Her argument is that carers (largely women) who simply cannot "black out" as they might with alcohol or drugs, use food in a similar way so they can feel better (temporarily) whilst still meeting their responsibilities.

And by carer there I mean anyone tied to supporting someone else - a child, a parent etc - such that they cannot leave the house or put down their emotional burden.

Suzan75 · 03/05/2015 14:17

Gladly Puffin, We have to stand as one otherwise these companies are using idealized images that denigrate those who don't measure up which is 99%+ of us will continue to do so.

Their customers are real people so they should use real people.
