Just starting this one as the last is nearly full

Oh, Yoni, I love a good rant. Highly entertaining and often informative. Go for it.

DoctorTwo · 08/04/2015 04:22

MB is an embarrassment and he and his ilk give the rest of us a bad name.

YonicScrewdriver · 08/04/2015 07:05

Ah, the moment has passed! I typed it out and decided not to post. It would've had my reaction to 10;000 previous critiques behind it so would've been unfair on the poster.

UptoapointLordCopper · 08/04/2015 07:17

Oubliette - Are they still there? I hope nobody is harrassing people coming in and out of the refuge. Angry

Now to do some work while beasties are on minecraft. Hmm

OublietteBravo · 08/04/2015 07:46

Van is still outside the Samaritans. Haven't seen anyone go in/out of it - just parked. I hope they don't represent local views - all the placards/posters I've seen seem to be supporting Labour although I suppose you could argue that if they did stand they'd split the nutter vote

UptoapointLordCopper · 08/04/2015 08:49

For some reason that has made me think that I should have the local police on my mobile contact list ...

Why?? Hmm

drspouse · 08/04/2015 12:42

Hello all, am at work again today (it's still a novelty) but feel like I am not totally sure what I'm supposed to be doing. My job is very self-driven except when someone panics and I'm trying to return my motivation to a slightly higher level than before I went on leave, probably foolish!

UptoapointLordCopper · 08/04/2015 13:32

drspouse I'm semi at work. My job has a very-regimented component and a very-self-motivating component. Luckily the regimented part is not on now. Have done a fair bit of email and paper work this morning. Just need to get a big chunk of writing done this afternoon in between going out to buy birthday presents...

drspouse · 08/04/2015 14:48

Ah I have to do some writing of a document I'm heartily sick of this afternoon. Currently on a slightly-longer-than-10-minute break between 20-minutes-only-just writing.

kickassangel · 08/04/2015 17:31

Well I have done all the work I intended to do this break and DD and I are having lazy days with some productive activities. Urgently I am dying her hair navy blue.

UptoapointLordCopper · 08/04/2015 17:35

I haven't planned on being able to achieve anything this break, so I've actually done a lot more than I planned. Set your expectations low, is how to do it. Hmm

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 08/04/2015 17:53

I wish my job was a bit more Kai's back at the moment. For every task I complete, I seem to have another three added to my to do list. I'm on holiday next week, so I'm going to get even further behind.

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 08/04/2015 18:01

WTF laid back. Don't know where autocorrect got Kai's back from Hmm

MsDragons · 08/04/2015 18:55

I haven't done much of the work I intended to do this break. Obviously I was working the whole time I was on the school trip, but since I came home I've barely even thought about school. I've got 3sets of books to mark as well as planning to do, so I suppose I'd better start at some point soon.

In other news, we registered our "intent to marry" this morning. It almost got called off because he couldn't remember my nameShock Shock Shock , my middle name but still, we've been together for nearly 10 years he should know my name. I had to think pretty hard to remember his birthday

SeraOfeliaFalfurrias · 08/04/2015 19:14

I am now in my third week of work, and the job itself is great, but... unfortunately I started at a really bad time cos the company who runs the team of pixies that do all the clever stuff between the points where I handle it switched from Chinese to Indian pixies 2 weeks ago with no warning to anyone, least of all the Indian pixies. So nothing has been coming back and my boss is just making busywork for me. In between raging at the Company of Pixies.

PuffinsAreFictitious · 08/04/2015 20:35

Oubliette.... that is pretty bloody awful. I know that it's the local J4MB candidate that has the van.... do you think he lives down your street so we could come and egg his house or has he parked it there deliberately to upset people?

OP posts:
OublietteBravo · 08/04/2015 20:43

I don't know - next time I see the van I'll check to see if it has a residents permit. No sign of it when I got home this evening parking was a bloody nightmare

Do candidates have to register their address? I seem to recall voting slips with addresses on them...

UptoapointLordCopper · 08/04/2015 20:57

I remember last time seeing that our local BNP candidate didn't live in our area. Hmm

PuffinsAreFictitious · 08/04/2015 21:01

Yes, they do, but I can't find the info online.... Ashfield and Broxtowe are their 2 constituencies, with MB and Ray Barry standing respectively.

OP posts:
OublietteBravo · 08/04/2015 21:07

I think nominations (or whatever they are called) close tomorrow. I imagine there will be more information available then. My constituency is Bedford & Kempston. I don't think we have a J4MB candidate, which makes the whole can saga extra weird...

PuffinsAreFictitious · 08/04/2015 21:16

An open can of white gloss paint, if placed upside down on the roof of a vehicle with a piece of card which then gets whipped out from under it, can cause a fair amount of damage to vehicle paintwork when the can is lifted off, I'm told. Or brake fluid.

I love random facts, don't you?

OP posts:
OublietteBravo · 08/04/2015 21:29

I'm all for random facts.

UKIP didn't get enough votes here last time around to keep their deposit. This is a Tory/Labour marginal (with a LibDem mayor).

Both the refuge and the Samaritans have CCTV

PuffinsAreFictitious · 08/04/2015 21:32

I'm in a tory/labour marginal. Kippers have been out in force though. ugh.

OP posts:
OublietteBravo · 08/04/2015 21:40

I don't think UKIP will be targeting this seat so much (haven't even seen any leaflets - possibly because we've trained the kids to put such garbage straight into the recycling). Random parties don't tend to do so well here... The interesting question is where the LibDem votes will go this time around (the mayor has been re-elected since the coalition came into being, so at least some of them will still go to the LibDems). Labour seem very confident that they can regain the seat. The Tory MP (& supporters) have been out in force canvassing in the town centre.

UptoapointLordCopper · 08/04/2015 22:07

Ours has always been firmly labour. Our MP turns up at all sorts of local events and lives down the road and I think people are quite fond of him. But he's retiring ...
