Changes in how rape will be investigated- about time!

I just read this and I was really pleased. It's about time rape was investigated and prosecuted differently considering the appalling rape conviction rate we have in this country. Imagine there will be an outcry from all the MRAs, but, I think it's very good news...

yes I think FFF thinks all the men will "go gay" if they can't perhaps maybe rape someone if it takes their fancy. Hmm

GibberingFlapdoodle · 12/02/2015 16:24

YY, what Rufus said. I really don't understand the problem. Men are actually going to have to talk to the women they want to fuck, perhaps make themselves pleasant, interesting, and in some way attractive in fact, instead of just assuming they have a right to fuck anything that moves. Why is this a problem for you?

ThatsNotMyNorman · 12/02/2015 16:36

BreakingDad: What epidemic? That's exactly my point Wink. After all those warnings about how women couldn't be trusted too.

Fairlyfairforall · 12/02/2015 16:40

ChunkyPickle,

'I can't speak for men..........I'm pretty sure that most men don't feel that the only woman worth talking to is one they can have sex with as well!'

Regardless, I hope you mean talking 'with' otherwise that might be a boring one-sided conversation.

It would also be interesting to know what reasons (apart from fidelity) that you think men shouldn't think that they can 'have sex' or make love with a woman after/as they are chatting with them, when the woman wants to be intimate as well.

fairy

I don't think that you should critique anyone's post when the last paragraph of your post at 16:40 makes no sense whatsoever

GibberingFlapdoodle · 12/02/2015 16:48

Yes, I was having trouble working that one out!

Fairlyfairforall · 12/02/2015 17:23

ThatsNotMyNorman,

'Well I think men are right to be worried, after all look what happened after rape in marriage was made a crime'

It would seem that the percentage of marriages declined considerably in the uk

GibberingFlapdoodle · 12/02/2015 17:30

And again, why exactly is this a problem?? If men who can't understand that women are humans too are put off from sexual predation of any kind, this is a good thing!

We can all manage a great deal better without them, thank you very much. Shame they aren't all put off, but gift horse and all that.

ThatsNotMyNorman · 12/02/2015 17:36

Well what is the point in getting married if you can't rape your wife!

Marriage has been declining since the 70s, long before rape in marriage became illegal. At the same time the number of couples cohabiting has increased, so men are not steering clear of women in fear of us crying rape.

ThatsNotMyNorman · 12/02/2015 17:50

Anyway let me stick to the point. When the marriage exemption for rape was removed some people were not happy, women were being given too much power and would abuse it and falsely claim rape against their husbands out of bitterness or to ensure custody of children. Guess what. It never happened. Just as these new guidelines are not going to lead to hundreds of innocent men being convicted.

GibberingFlapdoodle,

'If men who can't understand that women are humans too are put off from sexual predation of any kind, this is a good thing!'

The 'men' who cant, don't, or wont understand correct sexual relationships are highly unlikely to have had their minds changed by the law of whatever kind. Therefore it doesn't affect them and will not change their behaviour.

Generally the assumption seems to be that the perpetrators are only male gendered when of course we all know plenty of cases where women have been convicted of these types of sexual offences.

BuffytheThunderLizard'

Perhaps you missed the humour in my reply in your haste to correct my use of grammar.

I wasn't correcting the grammatical formation of the expression only the use of the expression itself as it seemed to me to suggest, humorously so, that men give women a good talking to, rather than an intimate 'talking with'.

I hope that clarifies my written comments.

I liked the guy from the other day who was promising not to hang around women way more than this new one. He was funnier. And bizarrely, better at grammar.

'Yes, lots and lots of women convicted of penetrating others with their penises when they don't have consent'

I find it difficult to believe that your witty sarcastic comments emanate from a mind unable to formulate other ways to commit the aforementioned acts without said unique male physical quality.

Buffy, if you look really closely, I think our visitor just paid you a compliment...

'your condescension in picking on Chunky's wording'

If you mean in the ancient meaning of the word (circa 18th century) perhaps but with regard to the words modern meaning I was sure I wasn't being condescending. Thinking that I was perhaps being condescending in this case is only possible as a subjective opinion, in my opinion.

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 12/02/2015 18:40

Fairly, how do you get out of bed in the mornings without circumlocuting yourself right back in?

Fairlyfairforall · 12/02/2015 18:49

AKnickerfulOfMenace,

'Fairly, how do you get out of bed in the mornings without circumlocuting yourself right back in?'

With intermittent bouts of hilarity.
