Hooters in Newcastle

I'm quite nervous posting here as you wonderful women seem to be a lot more articulate than I am. So as the title suggests Hooters are trying to open a branch in Newcastle, this disappoints me so much. However I don't feel able to concisely say why apart from I feel it is blatant sexism and belittles women to nothing more than breast and a pretty face. Is there anything that can be done do you reckon? www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/newcastle-could-set-hooters-bar-8178710

"And the women working there specifically don't get to choose what they want to wear"

But what do the women who work there think or feel about it? Have you or any other feminist actually asked them? Or do you think it's ok to just speak for them and be offended on their behalf?

NickiFury · 29/11/2014 01:11

I know women who have worked there. They mainly enjoyed working there and loved the massive tips and as I said it was a very sought after job at that time. Bear in mind though that they were very young and most of them had never left Nottingham except for the odd week on holiday, it was considered quite a big deal to be offered a job there. They "scouted" girls rather than advertised back then.

I am just being informative. My opinion of the place and concept is not a positive one.

Oh we've got new menz to explain how we're all doing feminism wrong, and what about choice, eh? Bet feminazis never heard of women who are dying to dress like that and get work in a resturant because that's their actual ambition. Also, some women like getting lascivious remarks and slapped on the arse when their doing their jobs. Women who think that women should be treated with respect are humourless and just don't understand what attractive, decently waxed and made up women want. Thank goodness someone's here to set us straight. Or lezzer, so long as I can watch! Fnar fnar.

if yoffwaba our new pet anti-feminist then ?

new poster only using the FWR boards to wind up the mummies

I hope he's been neutered

PuffinsAreFictitious · 29/11/2014 13:52

Lovely! Handmaidens, a troll and a racist. Just what we need on FWR.

Do we still have to play nicely with the GFs?

AnyFucker · 29/11/2014 13:53

Apparently so

PuffinsAreFictitious · 29/11/2014 13:59

Dull!

Anyway, I vote we keep this one, he's so ridiculous it's actually quite funny. He types from the script well as well.

chockbic · 29/11/2014 14:00

They really aren't a family friendly chain.

What next...take your toddler to Spearmint Rhino?

Most depressing.

LineRunner · 29/11/2014 14:03

Please please please can we keep him??!

AnyFucker · 29/11/2014 14:04

is he house trained ?

chockbic · 29/11/2014 14:06

Oh massive tips...

rubs eyes

LineRunner · 29/11/2014 14:07

I could put a big flap in the door.

AnyFucker · 29/11/2014 14:09

Would the flap be able to accomodate the massive chips on the shoulders

LineRunner · 29/11/2014 14:10

I think we're going to need a bigger flap.

AnyFucker · 29/11/2014 14:14

I think we might have to take a wall out

LineRunner · 29/11/2014 14:16

Or live in a field.

ApocalypseThen · 29/11/2014 15:11

I think, if we're going to consider keeping this one, we need some small spark of originality. I think we need one new idea. Just one, obviously there's no point in looking for anything special.

LineRunner · 29/11/2014 15:18

Or this one could be an archetype?

AnyFucker · 29/11/2014 15:22

Yeah, mediocrity sucks Smile

PuffinsAreFictitious · 29/11/2014 16:39

I've heard that if you let them pee in the corners they keep others of their kind away. It's worth a try.

YonicScrewdriver · 29/11/2014 16:45

LineRunner, AF - you're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!

AnyFucker · 29/11/2014 16:48

You know, I'd almost forgotten what your eyes looked like. They're still the same. Pissholes in the snow.

They say laughter is the best medicine.

(It isn't, it's Tramadol.)

AnyFucker · 29/11/2014 17:12

Not many people know that !
