...sat actions from a table of four men discussing paying for sex. I couldn't believe my ears at first, wasn't really listening and then it became clear.
Finished with, "the only time I paid for It is the day I got married".

OP posts:
BelleCurve · 16/09/2014 21:53

"men are socialised to feel revulsion at gay sex". I think you will find women feel revulsion at being raped.

also, the "natural orifice" - he really believes this is what women are for, doesn't he?

Glovender · 16/09/2014 21:57

So all sex is rape Bellecurve?

No, of course that's not what you said, but it's as honest an interpretation of your post as you've made of mine. Honestly, this is the standard. It's just... twaddle.

Goodnight all xxx

scallopsrgreat · 16/09/2014 21:59

Oh wow! You're right Glovender. We are wrong. We are just imagining it all.

Because yeah we are going to take advice from someone who thinks they men can't tell when they're raping a woman.

SevenZarkSeven · 16/09/2014 21:59

You also haven't said anything whatsoever about the OP, the whole point of the actual thread.

But have just weighed in to post about how silly immature feminists are all wrong about prostitution.

And you say we are "not bothering to discuss the issue properly". You haven't even mentioned it.

SevenZarkSeven · 16/09/2014 22:01

"But the majority of people don't agree with feminists do they? Men, women, teenage girls... Do you feel that you're winning? You shouldn't. "

Lol

They really do.
Not so many of the men like you, maybe.
But most people agree with the main tenets of feminism, what with them being, you know, common sense.

"also, the "natural orifice" - he really believes this is what women are for, doesn't he?"

Oh missed that one.

Bloody hell.

Lucky old women hardly even notice being penetrated vaginally so working as prostitutes is like well easy money and no-one ever asks to stick it in a different orifice so that's all fine.

Men though don't have a "natural" orifice for penetration so for them it is utterly abhorrant the worst thing ever I'm not even going to think about it fingers in my ears LALALA shut up shut up shut up I don't even want to think about it.

Righty-ho.

BelleCurve · 16/09/2014 22:05

For any interested lurkers, I thoroughly recommend Rachel Moran's book Paid For

I just read it today, after seeing Rachel speak recently. She explains clearly the physical and psychological damage done by sexual abuse in prostitution.

BelleCurve · 16/09/2014 22:08

IIRC it was one of the invisible men posts about a prostituted woman who couldn't bear having her ears touched as several punters had previously attempted to penetrate her in the ear. Sad

How about that for a "natural orifice"?

scallopsrgreat · 16/09/2014 22:09

It's such a disconnect for him isn't it Seven. No empathy at all.

True colours.

Thanks for the recommendation BelleCurve.

Glovender · 16/09/2014 22:10

Scallop, your inability to read the thread is not my problem. But to repeat, I didn't say that. I'm afraid your ludicrous pursuit of that line is more grist to my mill.

I'm not saying you should take advice; do what you want. Disappear up your own backsides on a tiny little forum whilst the majority of people in RL form a growing sense that feminists are raving lunatics that can be lumped in with Welsh separatists and jehovah's witnesses - that's fine by me.

7DS - The men on the train were boorish oafs and had no consideration for those around them. There's nothing to discuss or mention.

No really. I'm sorry. I have to go now. Please moan and mock amongst each other, but no more questions. You can't complain about me posting and then ask me questions - it doesn't make sense.

Glovender · 16/09/2014 22:14

Oh, but yes, absolutely. If any feminists out there want to know what another feminist thinks go read that book. Also, on the off chance that there's any holocaust deniers out there, I hear David Irving's book are pretty conclusive on the issue.

scallopsrgreat · 16/09/2014 22:14

Oooh. Getting a bit snippy now are we? You did say it. It's there in black and white. If you don't think that men don't know when they're raping someone, don't say it. Simples.

We see you.

And I didn't ask a question but you still felt the need to come back.

SevenZarkSeven · 16/09/2014 22:14

"7DS - The men on the train were boorish oafs and had no consideration for those around them. There's nothing to discuss or mention."

So you are saying OP shouldn't have started the thread? Confused

But she did, and you have deemed her experience not even worth mentioning and decided to talk about something else instead. Something you are presumably much more interested in.

Righty-ho.

(Deeming women's concerns / experiences irrelevant & not worthy of consideration is something of a theme with some of these posters isn't it)

You could have read her post, understood her experience, empathised, and said "Oh dear OP that was shit, I'm not surprised you had a reaction, what they did was way out of line".

But...... no. Not worth saying that.

Oh just had a thought! You know how women and girls often find that men are utterly uninterested when they tell them about their experiences of inequality/abuse etc? And how we all thought it was because they didn't give a fuck? We were Wrong!!!!! They care A LOT in fact so much that it's so obvious that these things are WRONG and BAD that they feel no need to mention or do anything about them! That puts a whole new perspective on things and I, for one, feel a lot better Smile

SevenZarkSeven · 16/09/2014 22:19

What's wrong with Welsh separatists?

Confused
PetulaGordino · 16/09/2014 22:20

no post that glovender has ever made is about the actual issue being discussed. he's not in hte least bothered about whether boasting about prostitution on public transport is acceptable or not

it's always about trying to get one up on feminists and show them how irrational and woolly-minded they are.

(and also apparently on a par with holocaust deniers, which sounds a bit godwin's law-ish)

SevenZarkSeven · 16/09/2014 22:22

Well yeah but he's just coming off as a hypocritical twat isn't he, and his posts are becoming increasingly peculiar and aggressive, so, um, not a great show of the kind of logical-minded-man-sense I assume he was aiming for.

BelleCurve · 16/09/2014 22:24

I think that one might qualify as Godwin, Petula with a generous linesman woman Wink
