Here are the rules

Filibusters are governed by the Senate rules and by precedents interpreting the rules.
Rule 3.02 prohibits eating or drinking in the Senate chamber.

Rule 4.01 requires a member of the Senate to stand at his or her desk to address the Senate. The member speaking may not sit, lean, or use a desk or chair in any way. Bathroom breaks are not allowed.

Rule 4.03, which governs the interruption of a member who is speaking, allows other senators to raise objections if a speaker does not confine his or her remarks to the issue under consideration or if his or her voice is inaudible.

I have shared on fb, the personal stories she is reading out are heartbreaking, is anyone else close to tears? Blush

Err can people Google zip codes...or would that not work?

Report
MmeLindor · 25/06/2013 22:38

Yep, use a google ZIP code. I have done that before when I have used US websites.

Not sure if she needs more to read, but worth a shot

So that would work, yay I just wasn't sure if it would be 'OK' don't want to encourage people to do something illegal, tho even if it wass I think this is a good enough cause for breaking the law.

It seems to work. I googled a place I've stayed in the US - if you used a hotel, no-one could possibly know you weren't there unless they checked hotel records, and you wouldn't be getting anyone into trouble by using 'their' address.

Someone please explain because I can't seem to find out... What is this anti-abortion bill? Anti-abortion full stop or anti-abortion after a certain time limit? If so what time limit? Thanks.

I hope she manages it. It's good to see someone fighting the good fight, although it's fucking shite that she even has to do it in the first place.

Oops - posted too soon!

So glad to see Wendy doing her thing. Hope she manages to stick it out. Implications of this are massive for the women of Texas.

Technically its for after twenty weeks but the legislation in full means that pretty much all of the places that currently provide abortion would be shut down so effectively Making it impossible to get abortion (its hard anyway) and there are no exceptions is in cases of rape or incest or health problems with fetus or mother.

Why would you want a Time limit on abortions anyway? Late them abortions are rare and always for good reason, as others have said 'as early as possible, as late as necessary'.
