Thinking of the awful, shocking Costa Concordia cruise disaster, what do you think about the convention of women and chikdren being evacuated first?

If you are considering children first for the continuation of the species, and women necessary as incubators for 9 months, surely the elderly should be left until last? Sort of Logan's Run on the High Seas.

That's a bit ageist but I can see your point.I wouldn't bother with the old women because they would slow you down with their boring stories.

I think that women and children went first as in those days women were looked on as pretty much being children - vulnerable, weak, not very developed mentally etc etc

It's not just 'those days' I know lots of women who are not very developed mentally etc etc. and in this day and age!

Lollygag is all this really how you feel about women? The level of hate is starting to get to me a bit.

I mean I know that lots of men do really hate women and want to get rid of them and so on but this is the feminist section and it seems quite inappropriate.
