Admittedly usually something argued accross the atlantic than in the UK anymore... I am curious to know how it ranges in the forum.

Anyone here pro-life or pro-choice? Any specific reason?

Carry on like that LRD and you'll be too nice for the Harridan's Club and people will begin to doubt your hairiness.

Drowz0r · 12/12/2011 17:06

Oh I thought you'd gone when you said you were leaving the first time! Haha forum addict huh?I guess we've all been there. Might need to try and let go when it comes to going to sleep though! Don't want you rolling around, wanting to tika tika tika away on the internets.

It's nice you don't feel that I'm pathetic, I'm building a nice image of you too.

Oh, don't worry - it's only ten past five here! If it's bedtime where you are, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite! (As we say to our little ones)

Drowz0r · 12/12/2011 17:12

Oh my grandmother used to say the same thing come to think of it....

Aw, how sweet. Smile

Drowz0r · 12/12/2011 17:15

Yeah she was. Funny how you lose touch with the old way of doing things. Oh well, I suppose every movement gets replaced sooner or later...

Ah ... you're not a historian either, I see! Grin

Drowz0r · 12/12/2011 17:19

Not hugely. Mostly political history rather than events. I often wish I went into history a bit more though. Do you sell those courses?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 12/12/2011 17:24

Not quite ... you're struggling with reading comprehension again I think? Do you know how to get the thread to display all on one page - it may make it easier. Or touch your finger to the screen as you read - one of the children I've worked with found that helped.

I've already explained, I don't sell courses. I teach history occasionally but not below GCSE, as I find it a bit boring. It's quite easy to do it yourself from the net if you take lots of notes and learn some basic study skills, though. And there are loads of historians on here too, who are fascinating to listen to.

Drowz0r · 12/12/2011 17:28

Ohhh I see, so you're like a temp who can get people onto courses? Sometimes doing history. Sounds exciting having a forever changing job, though working with children only must make for boring conversation. I see why you jump on the forums so often. Lots of thrilling and positive conversation here instead!

I'll take a look into the history of dying off movements and stuff tonight I think. I can think of a few that used to be pretty big deals and then died off but some purists just won't let go.

I'm actually off home now. Enjoy your day! Sweet dreams tonight, don't think too much of internets.

No ... this is all on the previous page I think. I work in academia. That's the bit of education that runs alongside and beyond FE, if that helps you to understand. Universities and places like that, you see?

It's great fun! Smile

In my experience, pro-lifers are really only pro- life pre birth.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 12/12/2011 17:34

He is a sweetie, isn't he? A lot of people who'd been struggling to get a job after doing FE could be quite bitter, but he's being very polite and I think it is commendable. In fact some of my students, who are obviously have many more advantages in terms of intellectual grasp and educational attainments, could still learn a lot about simple good manners here! Out of the mouths of babes, and all that.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 12/12/2011 17:35

seeker - yes, sad and true. Sad

True. Some people are just so mean. Thank goodness for feminists!

TheRealTillyMinto · 12/12/2011 17:39

LRD - i thought the table of qualifications you were sent was a delight! you could frame it & put it on the wall.....with your qualifications!

cuibono · 12/12/2011 17:40

I don't see how it's good manners to encourage trolls to believe anyone gives a fuck about what they have to say. It's just annoying.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 12/12/2011 17:41

It was quite helpful really - I'd never heard of levels except in the context of SAT scores, so I was initially thinking he meant level 6 as in age 13!

We're not allowed to troll either.

KarenMillenCoat · 12/12/2011 19:03

If men were the ones who got pregnant this wouldn't even be being debated.

LineRunnerCrouchingReindeer · 13/12/2011 00:19

Hello. Smile

I'm pro-life and pro-choice.

They're not mutually exclusive.

That would be a bit fucking stupid given that most women who have an abortion in their lives will also be or become a mother.
