As you might already be aware, the BBC Sports Personality of the Year has no women in the shortlist.

What you might not know, is the breakdown of which media nominated who and that Nuts and Zoo were part of the process link here Angry

Even the Daily Torygraph, not renowned for its feminism, thinks it's a poor show.

But you can't expect Zoo and Nuts to vote for any women: after all I doubt any sportswomen would have tits big enough ....Wink

Well, for a start, you know how he makes a fuss about how he lives in Blackheath? He doesn't. He lives in Lewisham (much less impressive)

The running joke in the neighbourhood was when Nick pulled out of running for the Conservative candidacy for London Mayor, it was because he found out he would have to disclose his home address.

His (now ex) wife is really lovely.

"His (now ex) wife is really lovely."

Now, how is it possible that a person that married that man (unless under duress) is "lovely". Wink

Tee hee slug, yes he does bang on about Blackheath a lot now you mention it. PM me if you have any more goss Wink

I shall retire from this conversation before outed...except to leve you with this tidbit.

Mr Ferrari has a strange habit of wearing trousers that end just short of his ankle. Of an evening, when stggering home, I often pass him as he is dressed up to go to some meeja do. I will walk past him and his strangely flapping cuffs and follow the overpowering trail of his aftershave scent all the way back to his house.

JosieRosie · 30/11/2011 14:15

That's brilliant slug, he sounds terribly dashing Hmm

'strangely flapping cuffs'

The cornerstone of any fashionable outfit! Grin

Hahahahaha Grin

My dad knows Mark Cavendish and says he's brilliant. Smile

maybenow · 30/11/2011 19:58

i am disgusted by teh whole thing

but i have to admit that i'm torn between cav and mo farrah for the winner... even before the shortlist was announced... but that's not the point!

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 01/12/2011 12:56

The point is that we have managed to list several female World Champions in a whole variety of sports and yet the two people at the top of the shortlist are golfers. I mean golf = sport? Pastime maybe but it hardly involves strenuous activity as can be seen by the beer bellies of Messrs Clarke and Westwood et al!
Male dominated sports get more coverage. I get the DT and always read the sports section (which is about 12 pgs normally) if 1 page of that talks about the women in sport then it is a good day. That is how under represented women athletes are in the media.

AlwaysWild · 01/12/2011 19:59

Didn't see that coming!
