In light of MNHQ's recent statement that the feminism section is in fact not a feminism section but a section 'about' feminism, perhaps we need to be warning people about this up front?

I'm of the opinion that it needs to made clear that whilst the title may be 'feminism/women's rights', this section is quite different to other boards that deal with feminism/women's rights.

It isn't fair to mislead - lots of posters expect the section to be a place where feminist views can be freely explored without fear of posters' mental health being questioned, and a zone where misogyny is unwelcome. In reality, pretty much anything goes here and whilst it is, of course, MNHQ's prerogative to run their site as they see fit, some sort of disclaimer about the section seems only fair in order to forewarn posters (especially posters looking for support or exploration of sensitive issues).

Perhaps it would be an idea for there to be a header at the top of the section stating MNHQ's position?

All suggestions welcomed .

On the subjects of cesspits, what precisely is the purpose of your board here?

Why do you have a board dedicated to attacking members of another site?
What is wrong with your lives that you need to behave in such a dispicable manner towards other human beings?
Where is your moral high ground in calling the MNers you disagree with names, when you behave as you do?

If you think the MRA forums linked to above are bad, you have no idea how much more extreme are the ones which can't be found on google.

Hully, I am sure that we will all continue to communicate - if via other mediums. MNHQ decide who gets banned and who gets deleted here, how they run this board is up to them. Those of us who don't agree can only try to influence them or go elsewhere.

I'm not excusing 4chan, or saying that it wasn't 4chan that did it, or that 4chan don't act horrendously - they did and they do. But I find it very interesting that a poster on this thread has pointed to a very, very loose online 'collective' (that's not even the right word, really) that doesn't have any kind of united identity and said 'it was them' in order to deflect away from 'MRA' and 'trolls'.

So, Beach and Wholly both agree it's up to MNHQ.

But the whole point of this great long thread is that they aren't doing so effectively. So the feeling must be that they are required to do it differently. So, differently according to whose criteria?
