sorry, totally didn't mean to hijack the thread, have a proper one going on in mental health because I didn't want to start one in the feminist section when other women here have been through much worse.

I'm already in the process of hopefully receiving CBT on the NHS anyway but the police have also offered help from victim support. But keeping to the topic, aside from I'm sure what are normal responses and fears, the shock of it happening when I was absolutely least expecting it has been massive

Girlwithmousey, it doesn't matter if you think other people have been through worse, women are constantly encouraged to underplay their own bad experiences and given the message that because other people have it bad, they've got no right to complain about whatever it is that's bothering them.
