The best anti-porn evidence I've seen.

(Please watch with caution, some scenes are upsetting)

Good post, GOML.

I've just finished watching that doc and am feeling really fucking depressed.

I knew porn industry was bad, but to see it (and know that this isn't nearly as bad as it can get) was horrible. Things are more extreme all the time too, so god knows wtf goes on now.

Anyone who thinks women 'chose' to be involved in porn need to watch this. SOme 'choice'.

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/04/2011 10:10

Oh christ I missed that - town whore.

It is bad enough that we have got pricks like Andre on this thread, without the whole damn discussion of what is essentially torture of women for the gratification of men being boiled down to extremely amateur psychology on domineering/cossetting/promiscuous (delete crime as appropriate) mothers creating psychopaths.

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/04/2011 10:13

I can't be arsed with making excuses for evil. I think sometimes there is no reason for why someone turns out to be a hideous human being. Sometimes I think people are just wired that way.

And yes abusive childhoods create damaged adults. However every adult has a choice. Christ there are loads of people on mumsnet who had abusive upbringings (me included) who have made a conscious CHOICE not to be a sadistic bastard when they are older.

chuffinheck · 08/04/2011 10:16

Dislike of women ?...are you mad ? I'd best tell my DH and give him a chuckle.

Try dislike of generalities & untruths that only serve to obfuscate and hinder the cause. Believe me I find the subject as repelant and vile as you obviously do, and anything that can be done to prevent it is to be applauded, but that has to start with the reality, not ideology. Being told to fuck off for trying to point that out saddens me as it means you have no chance whatsoever of making any difference as you have no understanding of anything outside of your own ideological bubble.

Beachcomber · 08/04/2011 10:19

It is astounding isn't it, the amount of power, the downtrodden members of the oppressed sex class are able to wield over their oppressors?

wubblybubbly · 08/04/2011 10:20

Funny that MH doesn't have a hatred of the men who abused his mother.

claig · 08/04/2011 10:21

I have seen that article you looked at Delia. It looks very doubtful to me because it is very racist. They say that a BBC documentary about Hardcore in 2004 came up with these facts, but I can't find any corroboration of that.

Out of the billions of people on this earth, the upbringing of some children who are abused will cause them also to become abusers. It is not the majority, but it does apply to some. That abuse can come from both mothers and fathers.

chuffinheck · 08/04/2011 10:47

Evil can't be excused, but that shouldn't prevent from trying to understand why. The two are not the same thing.

And yes, I'm sure some evil can never be understood, but then once we would never walk on the moon.

The source of that information seems very dubious indeed.

JessinAvalon · 08/04/2011 11:57

The book I posted a link attempts to explain it from a biological perspective. Some people's brains are wired differently. Their emotional regulation may be out of kilter or they may not have much of a connection between parts of the brain which link the ability to feel empathy.

Something like 1% of the population are psychopaths. Which is quite scary.

claig · 08/04/2011 12:05

I don't believe that. That absolves them of what they do. I think those psychologists are wrong. I think it is an example of wishy-washy liberal thinking.

These sadistic killers and murderers take pleasure in what they do. They enjoy the fear of their victims. That means they understand the fear that their victims go through and understand what they would feel like in this situation. Therefore they are able to empathise with the victim. The point is that they do not care about the victim's suffering, they want to inflict it. Ronnie Kray enjoyed being sadistic to his victims. If he didn't realise what they were going through, he wouldn't have got pleasure from what he did. Rapists are the same.

ChristinedePizan · 08/04/2011 12:05

We secretly hold all the power Beachcomber without anyone actually noticing. Cunning eh?

And I have to say here that I am getting really, really tired of people complaining that feminists are all meanies if they get pulled up for writing a load of misogynist twaddle.

An interesting article about psychopathy.

Deliainthemaking · 08/04/2011 12:45

its not about 'blaming the mother' but seeing his mother in that world being sbused by men

its not an excuse and doesnt explain his obsession with young'uns

I;m not saying its an excuse

nd the fact his role model he saw being exploited it would normalize it.

men the punters were brought back home and saw their mother being abused.

odvioulsy that alone would not create this monster

some of the spelling is shit but I've said several times Im NOT blaming his mother more the people who exploited her and becasue of the misogynisitc society then (he was born in 1956) she would have been seen as 'the bad one' twisting his views

So calling me a sexist wanker is way off the mark, and frankly fucking disgusting shitstirring bollocks

Deliainthemaking · 08/04/2011 12:47

It may be a bit dodogy I was very tired O_0
and the town whore was a quote so calm down peeps

PeterAndreForPM · 08/04/2011 13:08

Delia, you are confusing people because you are using random text and random quotes without any reference to what you are talking about, and what your actual point is

In a post where you include a passage of text, it would make sense to say what the source is, make it clear it is a direct quote and then finish with some comment of your own.

Far be it from me to tell you how to post, but your way don't work too well Smile

Deliainthemaking · 08/04/2011 13:16

you're right , i didnt structure it well at all its a fair point {embarassed}

im angry at some people really twisting what I have said and calling me disgusting things when they could have just said what you had said. I was trying to display the opposite i've calmed a lil bit i was close to reporting that tbh.

my point was that MH had serious issues that some could have led from seeing his mother being abused and distorted hatred, I also made it abundantly clear I'm not blaming his mum,

Delia, you would be challenged less if you stopped using websites like Encyclopædia Dramatica as a source. I'm not linking to the article, it's vile.

claig · 08/04/2011 14:03

That is where I also saw the article. It is vile.
I have just looked at that site and it says

"The articles in this parody of an encyclopedia explain things in a funny and not necessarily correct way."

I don't think that Delia knew what sort of site she was reading. That is the danger of the internet. Sometimes it is difficult to tell truth from fiction. But to me that site did seem vile and therefore not true.

Deliainthemaking · 08/04/2011 14:46

I im sorry for quoted that word I made it clear that was a quote not my words

I'd like to hear an apology for the the false claims about me and disgusting insults

its like calling someone a racist without provocation its unforgivable.

Deliainthemaking · 08/04/2011 14:47

I'd like to see an apology for calling a woman the "town wh*re"

I said it was a quote

Deliainthemaking · 08/04/2011 14:54

Like I said I was tired wasnt reading properly
