Elephants had this idea!!

So I'll start

"we're not a homogeneous mass..."
"I don't like to be too narrow..."

But the conversation is about you dittany - about your habit of calling anyone who disagrees with your opinion an 'antifeminist'.

You were 'highly personal and abusive' towards a whole group of women and didn't like it when you are called out for it.

wukter · 25/11/2010 23:48

The feminist board is not the place to debate the premise. At least, not over and over and over again. It doesn't need much debate, imo, as the evidence of gender based discrimination is all around.

scottishmummy · 25/11/2010 23:50

dittany you name called me et al on a thread.as an example of feminist thread gone tits up

you have done this before

scottishmummy · 25/11/2010 23:59

electrokin · 26/11/2010 00:08

Of course the classic "political correctness gone mad" accusation.

I.e "Why can't I say that women are inferior to men? It's political correctness gone mad I tell you!"
Usually said while reading the Telegraph in my experience

does back on track=no divergent pov.how curious

wukter · 26/11/2010 00:17

FGS what pov SM?
Simply saying your pov is divergent is pointless.

scottishmummy · 26/11/2010 00:19

well clearly is,if y'all need to get back on track

or does back on track mean look forward to seeing your contribution tomorrow?

LoudRowdyDuck · 26/11/2010 00:22

dittany, I may be wrong, but I think scottishmummy is the poster who likes saying that all threads are meaningless and it's all 'talk on a screen'.

I think she might be pulling your leg by engaging with you here.

Anyway, I heard a great addition to this thread: 'You feminists don't really like men - you're only married because your husband is a pushover'. Hmm Hmm

scottishmummy · 26/11/2010 00:22

i have work tomorrow, see you all same thread.i'll be here in a blocking hanging around kind of capacity

mathanxiety · 26/11/2010 00:28

I wasn't answering anything SM. I was asking about your post.

Thanks -- I do c&p well if I do say so myself.

Noticed you didn't actually say anything substantive in reply.

scottishmummy · 26/11/2010 00:28

and youre a bit skinny on wit too.see you tomorrow

AnyFucker · 26/11/2010 00:45

ok, back from evening out

I see sm continued with her silly posturing on this thread

I see you have gone to bobies, sm, as I must too, but I lost some repsect for you this evening

Tortington · 26/11/2010 00:49

i gained some

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 26/11/2010 00:52

blimey it's been busy on here.

For the record since I suggested an antifeminist bingo:

  • the word "antifeminist" is not one I use for people (AFAI can recall), because I don't find it that helpful except for the self-declared antifeminists e.g. MRAs etc.
  • I suggested "antifeminist bingo" in the sense of "a collection of comments commonly used to denigrate or deny the need for feminism and feminists". Stuff used to express an opposition to feminism (for example "all you feminists just need a good shag") = antifeminist, to my mind.
  • it wasn't directed at anyone or sparked off by one single poster (although sweet of scottishmummy to think that we all remember her post ), the whole point of the thread is that the same things get thrown around again and again by different posters, and also e.g. journalists, colleagues, family members IRL etc.

Might put a grid together at some point.
