What is the quickest way to heal a sore vagina??

So at the weekend had a very err active sex session… but I am sore! In the entrance to my vagina on one side I have a sore, I think probably like a friction burn? What is the quickest/best way to heal it?? I’m keeping it clean especially after I have been to the toilet but it hurts! Don’t really want to go to GP as I don’t think they can do much other than suggest something over the counter? I have sudocream, germolene, tea tree oil… any suggestions please??

@Ouchmy It is, mine was all around the back of the vaginal opening but also around the inner labia too. I’d had internal radiotherapy and that combined with a lack of oestrogen caused my skin to break down and it wouldn’t heal. I had 5 weeks before my gynae oncologist would agree to the oestrogen cream and I tried everything during that 5 weeks.

@gluenotsoup I have tried that but it made things worse? Thanks @MrsPnut I have ordered some to come tomorrow!

Ooh, ok. That was my very best suggestion too. Maybe just lots of fresh air and sudocrem then? And ibruprofen for the inflammation. Hope it’s all feeling more comfortable soon 😳💐

Thanks @gluenotsoup

Holland and Barrett sell lots of woman’s prebiotic type supplements which may help restore the balance if you have a yeast infection?

Lanolin (eg Lanolips) is worth trying. Good for healing, is non-drying and stops pee stinging.

Esspee · 17/01/2022 23:22

Wear a skirt or dress without pants to get maximum air. I wear a different cotton waistslip each day under my skirt so that I am not sitting bare bum on my clothes. When lying in bed put your feet together sole to sole. Air is a great healer.

Calendula cream works for pretty much all skin problems. And in future you might like to use sesame oil for better prep/lubrication for your active sessions.🙂

Ouchmy · 18/01/2022 06:24

I don’t own skirts! The only couple I have are going out type skirts… not appropriate for work! Yes I am well stocked up on lube @DrNo007!! I just can’t believe I am now 10 days later and it’s still there!!! At what point do I go back to the doctor? I don’t know if I have thrush or if it’s just parts of me are getting a little itchy from putting cream on if that makes sense?

Also, would it be a good or bad idea to dry off with a hairdryer after I have a wee?? I am pouring warm water down there so am only kind of patting as I can’t properly wipe without hurting and trying not to aggravate the particular bit that is sore? Should I also use the hairdryer each time briefly?

faithfulbird20 · 18/01/2022 06:36

Hair dryer might make it worse? Pat with a soft towel and go to the doctors!

Ouchmy · 18/01/2022 06:41

@faithfulbird20 I went to the GP Friday, she wasn’t remotely concerned. She said no bubble bath, aqueous cream for the shower and it will heal….. that was it…

LondonQueen · 18/01/2022 06:46

You've got to let it heal naturally, definitely no more sex until it's healed!

Ouchmy · 18/01/2022 06:47

@LondonQueen believe me there is no way I’m letting that happen!! Grin

Have you told your partner about the damage he's done to you, OP?!? Or are you just avoiding him.

Ouchmy · 18/01/2022 07:08

@PearPickingPorky of course I have told him, he’s fine and understanding and feels bad. It was his fault, it was mine, I didn’t listen to my body and didn’t say anything

OP posts:
Ouchmy · 18/01/2022 07:11

*wasn’t his fault

OP posts:
Beefcurtains79 · 18/01/2022 07:16

It was your fault? 🤮

Ouchmy · 18/01/2022 07:19

@Beefcurtains79 yes because I didn’t say anything. I was enjoying myself!

Sudocreme

isthismylifenow · 18/01/2022 07:37

I know its a bit of an old remedy but what about a dettol bath?

Sorry you are still sore though. It must have been one hell of a friction burn.

Ouchmy · 18/01/2022 07:44

@isthismylifenow not sure I want to risk that! GP said ‘trauma’ so I guess it’s like a sore/friction burn. It’s only small but hurts like hell

OP posts:
Inthesameboatatmo · 18/01/2022 08:19

Dettol bath is a good shout though op. Worth a try

Ouchmy · 18/01/2022 08:31

@Inthesameboatatmo won’t that burn like hell though?? I have never done one… is it literally just the dettol you buy for the house?

OP posts:
MrsPnut · 18/01/2022 08:39

Not a dettol bath, it’ll blooming well sting to buggery.
Epsom salt bath would be ok, I had a lot of those and they do help with the stinging.
