Just that really, is this usual for anyone else?

You need to go to the gp and book a full sti test. Speak to either the gp or sexual health clinic, if you have one in your area. If everything negative, insist on seeing the gap again. They should be able to take a swab of that and run some tests. How else can they identify it?

Anyone remember the tapeworm thread? I'm sure he had a name

@BalanchineBallet

Possibly” TMI? Possibly???

How could a picture of vaginal discharge with no warning or explanation in AIBU, not even a health or even a pregnancy board or bloody sporners corner NOT be TMI?

🤣🤣🤣

No this is not a wind up. I've been to the doctor's that many times I've lost count. He hasn't got a clue.

I posted in the hope that someone out there could make a suggestion. I'm at my wit's end with this as ive got burning and stinging with this.

No. No it isn’t normal.

@Tootsey11

I was been treated for thrush, and I was told by Gp to put cream on after going to the loo.

Surely this is connected? I've never seen anything like it but presumably connected with the thrush or the treatment.

Anyway. You need to take yourself and your stringy discharge back to the GP.

See a different doctor. That’s enough mumsnet for me in one day now 🤢

Looks like rolled up loo paper to me, but hey I can’t poke it to see what it is. It’s not a tape worm as they are flat and too big to be a thread worm.

You need to capture a “specimen” and take it in to the doctors for testing. A picture doesn’t give enough information.

C'mon OP 😳 seriously

I've been to the doctor's that many times I've lost count. He hasn't got a clue.

This is hard to believe. Ask for a referral to another doctor or gynae if this is the case.

You've got burning, stinging & significant & unusual discharge - of course something is up!

Smear is fine. And for those who commented, it was not wiped onto glass. It was lifted with a cotton bud and placed there.

I posted in health but got no answers. Posted here for traffic.

I am being serious, I've had swabs taken countless times, urine samples, being examined, nurse, gynae nurse and doctor.

If it’s real, go to a sexual health clinic.

Report
AmandaHugenkiss · 12/08/2020 22:04

Get thee to a sexual health clinic. If they can’t diagnose it, ask for a gynaecologist referral. You can get recurring thrush which is resistant to treatment, bacterial vaginosis, any number of STIs. In my experience GPs can be very shit at this. I was treated three times for chlamydia despite repeated negative samples, and it turned out I had ovarian cysts. My GP was convinced I was lying about unprotected sex and had pelvic inflammatory disease 🙄

Definitely a tapeworm or similar parasite; it lost it's way whilst navigating your intestines and burrowed through to where it could see daylight.

This from Healthline:

"Why is my discharge clumpy and stringy?
If you're experiencing a thick, white discharge that can be described as clumpy or clotted, you may be experiencing discharge from a yeast infection. Your vagina does a wonderful job of maintaining the pH balance of an entire spectrum of bacteria and fungi that live in it."

You need to make sure your vagina has the correct pH balance. There's a lot you can do to help that.
