I think I may be slightly in love

Couldn't put it down, off to waterstones tomorrow to get the next ones, tell me i'm no the only one

Haven't read a book in ages that has kept me that interested, even DH said that must be good, I was still reading whilst stirring the soup

I blame flame for introducing me to this book.....

I am also ever-so-slightly in love with a vampire too now.

I lent my books onto a friend (flame loaned me the books, I tho needed my own copies so went and bought them), and she stated that flame and I might be needed to be the ones named in her divorce petition for introducing her to another man...........her DH is just not good enough anymore!

Flamebat · 06/10/2008 07:50

Welcome to the twilight group.

Flamebat · 06/10/2008 07:53

Ooh custy - was thinking I was the only one who prefers Jacob

Tortington · 06/10/2008 08:05

can i ask - what kind of a fucking name is renesmee? bella gets on my tits sometimes.

stephenie meyers better write a ajacob love story making the female protagonist ( trying to write without spoilers) likeable.

i hear the next book is what has already happened but from edwards POV.

shant want to read it if it is.

i LOVE YOU JACOB!!!

Tortington · 06/10/2008 08:06

edward left her.

all alone

jacob never left her.

jacob waited for her always even when she was inlove with someone else.

Jacob always loved her more. but oooooh bella the drama queeen

Flamebat · 06/10/2008 08:09

I don't know anyone who thought Renesme for a name was a good idea

PsychoAxeMurdererMum · 06/10/2008 08:10

see, I kind of like jacob too, but seeing as one of my boys is called jacob it feels a teeny bit incest-like thinking along those terms.......

soooooooooooooooo

edward it is

altho jasper is pretty fine too!!!

strawberrycornetto · 06/10/2008 08:55

Just finished the 4th book last night. I loved it, definitely Edward not Jacob for me! didn't know about the film until this post and don't think I really want to know and spoil the picture in my head Makes me wish I was 17!

I randomly picked up the second book in a charity shop, is it worth reading it before I have read the first, or will it spoil it? Don't really want to spend money on the first if it's not my cup of tea. Also have nothing appealing to me on my book shelf atm.

ghosty · 10/10/2008 05:04

Is that the vampire one? I have been tempted to get it but wasn't sure ...

MiaWallace · 10/10/2008 15:58

AbstractMouse, I think to appreciate the second book you really should read Twilight first.

New Moon can be read as a stand alone book but works much better as a sequel.

ghosty, yes it is the vampire book and well worth getting.

AbstractMouse · 10/10/2008 21:45

Thanks Mia off to amazon I pop, it better be good you lot

maidamess · 10/10/2008 21:48

My dd (13) DEVOURS these books, and will read nothing else.

She has them piled up next to her bed and re reads them in rotation.
Nothing as grabbed her as much, not even Harry Potter.
Are they really that good?

Dottydot · 10/10/2008 21:54

They're wonderful - I've read them all and am gutted I've got to the end of the 4th. Sigh - but I think another's due out soon.

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 13/10/2008 20:42

Twilight was recommended to me by my 14 year old niece

i LOVE it! Edward is swoonsome

I am 38 btw

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 13/10/2008 20:43

strawberrycornetto

the actor playing Edward is spot on imo

strawberrycornetto · 13/10/2008 20:55

Oooh good, I will take a look then

lilibet · 23/10/2008 13:59

I'm very tempted, but those of you who lurve these books, what other books ahve you enjoyed?

nuttymum303 · 23/10/2008 17:23

I have all 4 in the series in my TBR pile lol. Looking forward to readin them.

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 23/10/2008 17:36

lilibet, I read most fiction and som non-fiction

just read

cranford
The Spare Room
Dream Babies

so Stephenie Meyer is not someone I would read normally

LostProphet · 29/10/2008 09:46

I read anything and everything - my list of all time faves are
The Collector - John Fowles
His Dark materials = Phillip Pullman
Great Gatsby
Robin Hobb Farseer load.

so a mix

carrotsandpeasifyouplease · 29/10/2008 15:09

Robin Hobb farseer is v.good, still waiting for the new GRR Martin though and have been for ages it seems.
Edward for me too, Bella is ok but seriously Renesme?? i couldnt even read the name quickly it just sort of stuck there so the flow wasnt that good. I have to say though i got a bit bored at the 2nd or 3rd book but persevered and it was good but not as fantastic as the first book had led me to expect it was going to be.
The host seems quite good, would be interested to know if anyone has read that yet?

janeite · 29/10/2008 15:11

DD read the first one yesterday and immediately started on the second. I will read the first after I finish "World Without End".
