A colleague heard about this on the radio and it sounds great fun. You have to think of a book title that be changed into another potential book title by removing the final letter:

Eg - Of Mice And Me
Three Men In A Boa
The Sound And The Fur
etc

Can anybody think of more? Personally I would love to read Three Men In A Boa!

Hi Janeite!
The Red Ten?

This is quite hard

One Big Damn Puzzle (almost same as real title)

Think I need to pace in front of some bookcases for a while!

Hello - I thought I might get a reply from you!

It's really hard isn't it? The only one I can think of at the moment is The Wee Free Me.

Oh and The Colour Of Magi - sticking to the Pratchett theme.

Far Form The Madding Crow was mentioned on the radio I think; it's fab!

Am still on TP at the mo - I rather like The Thief Of Tim.

Romeo and Julie suddenly sounds rather more common though

Of course, there's Jane Austen's indecisive "Emm"

"Emm" - love it! And I love the ones that create whole different connotations; "Julie, Julie wherefore art thou Julie" just doesn't sound the same does it?!

Damn! I came running back from the bookcase to post Road to Wigan Pie thinking how clever I was

janeite · 06/09/2008 20:44

The Road To Wigan Pie is brilliant!

Meg - you take away the last letter, rather than the first - or that's what they did on the radio anyway. Pity, because Leak House sounds great, if rather smelly!
