A colleague heard about this on the radio and it sounds great fun. You have to think of a book title that be changed into another potential book title by removing the final letter:

Eg - Of Mice And Me
Three Men In A Boa
The Sound And The Fur
etc

Can anybody think of more? Personally I would love to read Three Men In A Boa!

I like Black Beaut. The Australian edit, obviously!

The Satanic Verse (abridged)

London Field (also abridged)

And the dull brown sci-fi classic, Dun.

This reminds me of the old Grauniad feature, "Lost Consonants", of which my favourite was "Andrew Lloyd Webber writing another hit musical."

Another good one is to change the entire potential tone of the book by swapping two letters around, e.g.:

Bridget Jones's Dairy.

Hard Mites.

About A Yob.

janeite · 07/09/2008 20:14

Lol to some of these.

Some of you are cheating though The only thing you change is to remove the final letter of the final word of the title in order to create a new, interesting or amusing title. And just removing an "S" is usually not interesting or amusing!

The Stan (d)
Avocado Bab (y) - The Brummy version?
Guess How Much I Love Yo (u) - P Diddy's latest?
