OP posts:

Mick Jagger would be great! but I think JKR is bigger than Mick Jagger, so he might worry about what it would mean for his legacy.. or not, maybe it would be a good thing for him!

drspouse · 06/08/2025 13:45

I don't think MJ is tall enough!

Lins77 · 06/08/2025 14:41

Steven Tyler, if he was British? Or could do a British accent!

I think either Ian McShane or Charles Dance would be good as Jonny Rokeby.

CD not louche (even formerly louche) enough and a bit old. Not convincingly rock.MJ would have been good maybe 25 years ago. How about Bryan Ferry? He's def gone all Pretend Aristo. But not an old rocker. Rufus S would be...lovely.🫠

I can see Bryan Ferry! (The very definition of louche.) Not sure if he's done much in the way of acting though. And apparently he's 79 now 😮

Well, Mick Jagger if he were younger. He's become a pillar of society.

Rufus Sewell or Antony Head are good suggestions, too.

I imagine him as Mick Jagger too.

There’s a new interview clip on the Robert Galbraith instagram

It’s the answer to the question on whether it is now or never for Strike and Robin - click at your own risk - although she says it’s not a spoiler!!!

Civilservant · 08/08/2025 16:36

The link takes me to a Netflix feed on instagram

Hmm I think the people from the past linked to the Freemasons will be Whitaker’s parents (who are very well to do if I remember right?), the guardians of Switch?

excellent suggestion. How old would switch be now? early 20s?

I think so - Strike must be say 42/3 and was about 20 when Leda died?

upinaballoon · 17/08/2025 22:09

Have we met Switch in any of the books? I think Whitaker was in one, but I can't remember which. Did Switch appear in that?

RobinEllacotStrike · 18/08/2025 12:17

I don't think Switch has appeared in the books as such.

He has been mentioned several times, and he came up in TRG - Shanker & Strike meet and Shanker mentions how much Leda "loved the three of you" & Strike thinks about Switch then.

Also in TRG Lucy mentions to Strike she sees her other "half siblings" (to Strikes surprise as he was thinking Lucy might be upset with him seeing Prudence) and at one point Strike wonders if Switch is one of these half siblings Lucy has contact with.

So Switch has deffo been raised in TRG, possibly foreshadowing for Switch's appearance in THM.

I like @RaspberryRipple2 's theory about Whittakers parents/Switch's former carers being the freemason link.

Whittaker was in Career of Evil - horrible man. I'm rereading them all just now (currently on Troubled Blood) and I can't remember if he appears again.

It has been available for preorder for months - I used a spare credit for this in March!

When is the TV version of the Running Grave going to be out? It was my favourite book in the series so far.

They haven’t started filming yet.

Teddy589 · 19/08/2025 20:55

I almost ordered THM twice today - was considering the hardback to take on holiday with me but I forgot I already preordered the Kindle version! Thank goodness Amazon reminded me of the Kindle order.

I'm actually really enjoying IBH, didn’t think It’d would with the chats and the tech issues with viewing the chats on Kindle. I’m about 3/4 of the way through so perfectly poised to finish in time for THM! (I read TRG first out of all the series!)

mylovedoesitgood · 19/08/2025 21:22

I note THM is £5 more expensive in hardback than The Running Grave was when it was published in hardback two years ago, so a 20% increase.

Maybe it’s longer?
