I tried to hold back until July so I could say 'next month', but apparently the cover design and back cover blurb will be released tomorrow.

Anyone have thoughts and/or predictions they'd like to obsess over for a couple of months?

Listening now. Completely sucked in

KittenKong · 30/08/2022 10:23

I’ve tried contacting Waterstones. No luck. Everyone is busy.

way to trash your reputation (further). The website barely mentions if (it’s listed but but shown as a new release or best seller) and they haven’t announced release on twitter.

Chrestomanci3 · 30/08/2022 10:25

It has arrived on my kindle, but there are lots of bits much too small to read (showing online chat). It's part of the story, but quite frustrating because however much I increase the font size on the kindle, it only works for the main text, not these bits. Does anyone have a work around? I can't justify buying a paper copy as well as electronic version.

Got my kindle version! I would like a hardback set if all of them though.

IamEarthymama · 30/08/2022 10:38

Ok everyone!
walking through the tiny and very pretty city of Wells to pick up the hardback copy I reserved by phone this morning!
so excited!!

HumphreyCobblers · 30/08/2022 10:39

Just read the first few chapters and am completely hooked. Had to pop in and share the excitement.

IamEarthymama · 30/08/2022 11:00

Now the question is…do I start reading on the bus or wait until I get back to the cottage after lunch?

And the answer is, READ IT NOW!!!

Im just going to cancel my Waterstones order. They can do one…

IamEarthymama · 30/08/2022 12:14

It was just inside the door in Waterstones in Wells, the first book display I saw.
The staff were very positive and I hope I persuaded one of them to read from the beginning of the series.

mrstea301 · 30/08/2022 12:16

My book is out for delivery - due between 2pm and 5pm! Would be happy for 5pm to nicely tie in with finishing work today!

I think it depends the location of the store. Sadly the one near my home and office have the unicorn vomit displays front and centre and I can’t be bothered dealing with staff who I suspect may be hostile.

KittenKong · 30/08/2022 12:30

Sheep!!!

I snapped and downloaded an audio copy.

absolutelyknackeredcow · 30/08/2022 12:34

I am in - loving it so far although some
Of the chat is hard to read on my kindle

Purpleavocado · 30/08/2022 12:38

Downloaded the audible version. Robert Glenister is a fab narrator.

KittenKong · 30/08/2022 12:51

As long as he doesn’t try a Scottish accent. Truly terrible!

the80sweregreat · 30/08/2022 12:58

Some of the text on my kindle is a bit difficult to read too !
It is an old kindle though.

fannyfan · 30/08/2022 13:46

I'm
About 8 chapters in and it's amazing

I do like his Barclay though.

Graffittiunderpass · 30/08/2022 13:48

I'm 13 in and I already know I'm going straight back to the start when I'm finished.

theveg · 30/08/2022 13:50

Glennister did a terrible geordie accent in one of them too, maybe it was Lethal White. But otherwise he is v good.

BobinogBobbleHat · 30/08/2022 13:50

I'm so grumpy about this. My local Waterstones is lovely and I really feel for the staff as it's not their fault. The manager even kindly said that if I'm passing after work and they're closed but the lights are still on, to knock on the door and she'll had me my copy.

Sadly that's not going to work and it's likely to be Thursday morning before I'll be able to pop in again.

@Chrestomanci3 @the80sweregreat

Use two fingers on the chat parts to zoom in and it will open it like a picture, if you know what I mean? There will be an X on the top right corner to come out of it that will take you back to the book.

I don't know if I've explained that well.

witheringrowan · 30/08/2022 14:56

Nothing at all in the Waterstones on Tottenham Court Road! Which is not surprising, but enraging nevertheless.

KittenKong · 30/08/2022 15:23

Not surprising at all. Their window display is all rainbows and Q books. And to think they actually used to have a feminist book club (maybe 4 years ago now).

the80sweregreat · 30/08/2022 15:34

I've made those pages bigger now !
At first I thought it was my eye sight. Or very old kindle
