Is it too early to start an Ink Black Heart thread? (No Spoilers)

I tried to hold back until July so I could say 'next month', but apparently the cover design and back cover blurb will be released tomorrow.

Anyone have thoughts and/or predictions they'd like to obsess over for a couple of months?

It's only parts, so they are going to have to take a lot out - presumably most of the more personal stuff.

If you have good actors (and we know they do) you can do an awful lot in an adaptation with a meaningful look, replacing pages of dialogue and description.

I'm hoping Troubled Blood will be screened for late September/early October, just as the Ink Black Heart buzz is starting to wear off.

My guess for TB is a very much simplified case, and my hope is for the Valentine's Day fight and the curry in chapter 58. We already know we are getting something of Skegness because they filmed there.

And yy to many meaningful looks. It's not that I am completely uninterested in the case; it's just that I'm totally over invested in Strike and Robin getting together (when the time is right, which I don't think will be IBH).

I still believe they won't get together until the very end ( if at all )
This book will have them as mates I think , best friends forever.

I can't wait! I'm starting a new job next week so won't be able to take time off to read without the kids around!

I think il do a reread of TB first though.

SYNOPSIS SPOILER

Anyone else finding it interesting and kind of poignant that the theme of the new book seems to revolve around a perpetrator who harasses and threatens the victim online and hides behind aliases??!
I've noticed that JKR seems to put a lot of herself into these books, especially the character of Robin and her experiences.

I agree that many of Robin's experiences with men are the same as JK Rowling's earlier life with her abusive ex and divorce.
They seem to be similar characters in many ways.
I've a feeling IBH will be a complex story too,

im hoping Robin and Strike get together both have a lot of healing to get through first I think.
Don’t forget he needs to solve his mother’s murder too?

I Hope Ted is ok : maybe he'll come up to london for a visit to see his nephew's office ? Or stay with Lucy and co. I think he would like that , I can imagine him being impressed with how well they are doing.

No way @Smilingwithfangs! She can't go straight from Matthew to Strike though. She needs a fling... possibly even with someone Strike likes / introduces her to.

I think that Robin would kick Matt into touch if he tries to come back into her life!
I wouldn't put it past him though , creep that he is.

Marking my place on this thread in anticipation. I only got into Strike last year and devoured all five books in fairly quick succession - waiting for this one has been tortuous!

I'll also be disappointed if Matt shows up to see Robin looking for sympathy or a drink or whatever because he discovers Sarah is a class A manipulative nasty piece of work and he is unhappy. I would hope that Robin is able to see through him completely if he tries this. I think she will do
