I only just finished this book. Best of the lot. And I hope they DON'T get together romantically, I really don't.

KitJut God, I love your imagining of Robin and Strike’s kiss!

Although I like the detective story element of the Strike books, it’s the Robin/Strike element that I love.

I know it’s unavoidable but they miss so much out. Robin just suddenly living with Max, for instance.

The characters are all wrong! Chopped storyline (I know the book is a million pages long). Anna’s dad is a bit of a git in the book but he’s not here and that isn’t the grand old house he was supposed to live in, and the step mum was suppose to be a snorting schoolgirl remote. No nephews either! Didn’t Joan have blue eyes? Robin is being a wee bit nippy too.

I have to know what 'snorting schoolgirl remote' was meant to say.

I suspect the ‘remote’ was a random word! I’m my minds eye she was a blonde, naice gal Joyce Grenfel!

Im disappointed with all of the characters apart from Pat!!

Even knowing who did it, I can't see anything yet (episode 2) to say aha.

As it's not that sort of writing, it's the slow putting together of many things)

And they are throwing in all the various side plots /red herrings (though avoiding any trans issues)

They’ve pulled the Conti ‘confession’ in quickly. It’s a bit muddled for me and the characters just don’t ‘look’ right. Anna looks an ‘old’ 40 to me!

I'm hoping for a bit of public education with the side story of the adult human baby fetishist! 😂

And that dinner party. He's been invited so it must be going to happen...

Creed says something to Strike about her being 51.
