Sign up to bookbub they send you an email daily of kindle books £1.99 and less. It’s free and a good way of seeing books you might miss.

Todayissunny · 06/04/2020 20:45

I don't know if you can read them on kindle but the National Emergency Library (US) are lending books for free at the moment.

JoeGargery · 06/04/2020 20:48

Are you a member of your library? Mine has tonnes of ebooks and audiobooks via BorrowBox and Libby and the apps are more user friendly than kindle.

bettybattenburg · 06/04/2020 20:48

The Photographer by Petra Durst-Benning is on kindle unlimited and is a good read.

picklemewalnuts · 06/04/2020 20:50

What do you like? I've read a couple of free ones recently that were so good I coughed up for the rest of the series! I'll go and look them up.

picklemewalnuts · 06/04/2020 20:53

This is speculative fiction...

If you sign up to the Kindle Daily Deal they send you details of a book/s each day normally for 99p.
I never feel guilty about buying those.

ihatemyjob5 · 06/04/2020 21:24

I'm reading the other wife at the moment 99p on kindle and I'm really enjoying it. If your into psychological thrillers I would recommend.

Binglebong · 06/04/2020 21:28

Load of freebies - some good classics in there. www.amazon.co.uk/b?node=21173577031&pf_rd_p=7ac4a7a0-9ab0-4b52-8f32-b5ed83616683&pf_rd_r=F01JFH34D45SFWF21BCJ&pd_rd_wg=dYPeD&pd_rd_w=Vvk9T&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&pd_rd_r=F01JFH34D45SFWF21BCJ it's meant to be free but double check!

I second bookbub.

GBroGal · 06/04/2020 21:29

Project Gutenberg - you can select the Kindle option on a lot of the titles and they are all free

picklemewalnuts · 06/04/2020 21:53

The Atlantis Grail books by Vera Nazarin.

Gotthetshirt23 · 06/04/2020 21:56

Intimate Strangers - currently free , first in a series

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 06/04/2020 22:01

I downloaded I Thought I Knew You for 99p today and it looks reasonable - it's about 2best friends, torn apart when the son of one is accused of raping the daughter of the other
not read it yet, but it has decent reviews, so thought it worth a mention

RustyBear · 06/04/2020 22:08

As well as BookBub, there's also ereaderiq which has plenty of free or cheap books - you can set your preferences & get emails about new offers

uk.ereaderiq.com/freebies/

Feenie · 07/04/2020 08:53

Tried Amazon Prime in January but I like to own the books when I've bought them, since I share my family account with my parents.

I have Bookbub and ereaderiq, both handy.

I Thought I Knew You is good, ClosedAura.
