Kchick I actually feel really sad that DS (also 16m) won't have this HP excitement and I really hope there's something like this when he's of the right age so we can dress up and go to the bookshop at midnight and get really excited.

kneazlechick · 18/07/2007 13:11

I know what you mean Albus, but what are the chances??

Anyway - was just reacting to another thread where someone said that they don't know much about HP coz their dc are too young!! As if you need your dc to be interested!?

kneazlechick · 18/07/2007 13:12

btw - when was your ds born? Dd was 13th March.

LittleLupin · 18/07/2007 14:07

The ending has been leaked online... am... resisting... temptation...

kneazlechick · 18/07/2007 14:41

Apparently it's a load of rubbish anyway LL!

rosmerta · 18/07/2007 14:42

It won't be the real ending!

LittleLupin · 18/07/2007 14:45

I'm not looking anyway ... I need something to read in the car for 7 hours on Saturday!

PhoenixSongbird · 18/07/2007 15:44

Albus, it is a shame that our dc won't have all the excitement of the build-up, but at least they'll get to read them as children. I feel quite jealous of future 8yo dd (currently 2!). I loved Roald Dahl when I was a kid, such imagination and irreverance, it was great. I'll never forget my teacher saying 'fart' when 'Boy' was our class book.

What's cool is that the shopping centre where I'll be queueing up is full of bars to sit in whilst you wait for the release .

MrsWeasley · 18/07/2007 15:48

I keep thinking perhaps a quick look wont be too bad but I keep thinking I will google it and it will be he MN version

I am a fan of any book that encourages children to read and enjoy books.

The fact I enjoy them too is an added bonus

Kchick DS is 16th March, which is a bit of a bummer as I'm 17th March and he's totally stolen my birthday thunder!

kneazlechick · 18/07/2007 16:25

Albus - dd was due 10 days before my birthday and I was worried that she would be late!! As it was she had the good grace to be 5 weeks early and so left a respectable gap

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 18/07/2007 16:30

DS was due on 8th. I thought great at least he won't be near my birthday. And he just wouldn't come out. Even when I was induced he held on for three days and then only came out by EMCS!

kneazlechick · 18/07/2007 16:50

Wow! You had a time of it! Dd was just an impatient little so-and-so!

Anyway, back to HP ...

Just read that Essay about Snape being an unregistered animagus. It is very involved, and I thought we were obsessed!

Anyway, I'm not convinced even tho there is a lot of evidence, a lot of it is very tenuous. At one point it says that it is not clear why Aragog's death got so much coverage. I thought that this was because it was at Aragog's funeral that Harry got Slughorn's memory. But maybe I'm not reading enough into it.

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 18/07/2007 16:57

Yes I also thought some of it was quite tenuous. Although the whole Spinners End thing got me thinking as JKR often drops clues like that around.

singingmum · 18/07/2007 17:01

Kneazle I thought that was what it was about to

kneazlechick · 18/07/2007 17:01

Something I did wonder that had never occured to me before ... if Wormtail was secret keeper for James and Lily but he betrayed them, does this mean that the spell is now broken? Or is it broken because J&L are dead? Or is it still in place?

I agree that the Spinners End stuff is interesting but I'm not sure that every reference to spiders is significant - they are witches and wizards after all!

rosmerta · 18/07/2007 18:36

I think this is what comes of slightly overanalysing everything - you end up thinking every little mention of something is a clue!

Patronuscharm · 18/07/2007 18:46

Book has apparently been widely circulated on line - have seen the purported ending - don't know how genuine it is. Will still be buying the book in any case as I've really enjoyed all the others.

rosmerta · 18/07/2007 18:49

I'm avoiding it, don't want to know just in case it is the real ending.

persephonesnape · 18/07/2007 19:25

is this the 'gabriel' ending or a different one?
