I've added to the story ...

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 18/07/2007 21:14

Oooh...I was re-reading HBP last night, Trelawny says to Harry that she was in the Hogs Head when Dumbledore interviewed it but she didn't recommend it 'bed bugs dear' and then Dumbledore interviewed her in her room......

So.....an unregistered animagus bug with a history of 'bugging' people....Rita Skeeter.....

kneazlechick · 18/07/2007 21:32

Hmmm, not sure about that one as, if Rita prooved to be really important, wouldn't JKR have insisted that she was in the last film? (Haven't seen it yet but am sure I saw on here that she isn't in it.)

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 18/07/2007 21:40

Hmm...good point....maybe another bug...the spider animagus we were talking about earlier? Tempted to try and find the spoilers on the net but must resist!!

GodzillasBumcheek · 18/07/2007 21:44

Can i butt in and ask...it is Saturday isn't it? When HPand the DH is coming out? Only a girl in my dds class swears blind she's queuing up tonight...i am worried she might starve to death before she gets it

rosmerta · 18/07/2007 21:53

Hi Godzilla (good name btw ), it is Saturday tho some shops are opening midnight Friday

GodzillasBumcheek · 18/07/2007 21:59

Thanks - at least i know it's not my bad memory playing up!! Poor girl...hope her mum realises and doesn't take her. Can't wait myself but not going to start queuing yet!

lunalovegoodasgold · 18/07/2007 23:25

Hello all, I have just spent an hour reading your posts!
I saw the film last night, I liked it mainly because I love the characters and that world. It could easily have been an hour longer and still not have the essence of the book. Agree that a TV series could do the whole lot in much more detail. What fun. Some of you should write it.
The betting shops are not taking any more bets on Harry dying so I've accepted that this will happen. I'm sure it will be in a true Gryffindor way, and that the outcome will be uplifting. I can't wait to find out what happens to all the characters, I love them all, even the ones I hate, like Umbridge, can she get her comeuppance, going to DDs funeral?
I will be getting my copy from the local bookshop, tempted by Waterstones party, but like having a bookshop in the village too much, we can't let these indies go.
Loved the fireworks W as the twins left Hogwarts for the last time.

MrsWeasley · 19/07/2007 10:38

Los of spoilers about now. Apparently the New york times (?) has printed the epilogue As is it classed as a childrens book why are they trying to spoil it for all the children who are so looking forward to reading it themselves.

Anyway I will say this only once (more)

HARRY WILL NOT DIE

There feel better now.

PhoenixSongbird · 19/07/2007 10:50

I?ve been thinking about what DD says in COS about our decisions making us what we are (or something along those lines). Maybe Harry will choose to spare V, and in doing so his pity and mercy will kill him (V, I mean), as these are emotions he can?t understand, like love.

Big

Also, remember in OOTP when Harry?s had his interview published in the paper and all the teachers find ways to reward him. Trelawney (after continually ?Seeing? his death) tells everyone he?s going to live to a ripe old age, have 12 children and become Minister for Magic ? now that would be funny if that came true! 6 scruffy haired boys and 6 beautiful ginger girls!

I have read the NY Times review linked to by Dumbledore'sGirl. It doesn't reveal anything major but does leave some tasty clues that, if we are anywhere near the mark with some of our musings, are very interesting. It comments on things that have been mentioned in passing which become very significant - but doesn't say anything in particular - and also says there are lots of red herrings. I'm worried that I haven't read the other books closely enough and am going to be all confused and lost!! It can't be that deep can it? It is a children's book afterall!

I'm liking your "kill him by sparing him" theory, Songbird. I still can't square with any of the 'goodies' doing an unforgivable curse. I'm not sure that the self-defence thing makes enough of a difference. Probably wrong on that tho.

singingmum · 19/07/2007 11:11

Phoenix would feel very sorry for Ginny if she had to have 12 babies.
OUCH!

kneazlechick · 19/07/2007 11:12

lol singingmum

Probably got some super-duper pain killing potion.

singingmum · 19/07/2007 11:14

According to some pr*t of a writer who thinks HP is tat,the books aren't very deep.
He is so WRONG!
After reading each new book I found that I have to go back and re-read all up to whichever one was newest and find all the little hidden references and clues that are there.
Hate so called reviewers who are just plonkers who write reviews because they often don't have the imagination to write stories for themselves.Thay are just

expatinscotland · 19/07/2007 11:15

Well, of course, he's going to die! I mean, we ALL die. Even Dumbledore DIED.

singingmum · 19/07/2007 11:16

I hope so.Maybe like gas and air but quadrupled
Could have done with some after 4 days of pain trying to get dd out.

singingmum · 19/07/2007 11:18

Expat HP is going to make a philosophers stone(with hermiones help of course)and will live forever,do you hear me, forever!!!

kneazlechick · 19/07/2007 11:20

Well, expat, yes, he probably will die, one day!

The question is, will he die sometime before page 609 of Deathly Hallows?????

allmytimeonmumsnet · 19/07/2007 11:24

Harry will forgive V!
V will reform into reasonable chap.
V will become new potions teacher at hogwarts!

allmytimeonmumsnet · 19/07/2007 11:26

B**r. Messed that up. Should be defense of dark arts teacher - thats the one they always loose isn't it

PhoenixSongbird · 19/07/2007 11:28

Yeah, I don?t think we can have our boy doing the old Avada Kadavra (sp?) can we? I?ve said it before, but I think it?ll be something really simple that won?t have occurred to Voldemort.

Singingmum, I think magic labour could well be a lot easier than muggle labour!

singingmum · 19/07/2007 11:32

Maybe MRS Weasley can tell us about that. She's had 7 hasn't she.
Is it Mrs W?

BandofMuggles · 19/07/2007 11:38

Phoenix I love that theory, that is very clever and will also keep Harry's soul pure and whole.

Ooh I think you may have hit it on the head there.

PhoenixSongbird · 19/07/2007 11:46

shucks, you guys...

Maybe I should be in Ravenclaw after all, not Hufflepuff

I must admit, when I thought of it I did get a bit excited, I rarely have original thoughts!

OP posts:
PhoenixSongbird · 19/07/2007 11:47

By the way, not that it needs dragging up again, but can you believe how ridiculous things got yesterday?
