Yes i think the bullying by james makes snapes character more complex and adds spice to his relationship with Harry.
Ooh wonder where the money came from....not long to go....

MrsWeasley · 18/07/2007 10:01

apparently the Potters were wealthy
(please dont ask me where I read this I have read so much over the last few weeks it wold take me an age to find it again!)

BandofMuggles · 18/07/2007 10:03

3 days to go

Think I'll get some time on Sunday to read in peace, but may have to wait til Sat night to read when DD's in bed.
DH in an awkward mood yesterday.
Mind you might have blown over by then
Bloody Men

singingmum · 18/07/2007 10:14

My dc's are going to the local bookshop at midnight of release. My dp arranged it with his step-dad.My dd is dressing up but still can't persuade my ds to do so.He is boring as I wanted to draw a scar on his head and dress him up.Instead am making him wear jeans and top that are baggy as he has recently shot up and slimmed down at the same time so he will look like HP wearing muggle clothing
He was at the park the other day when some young kids started calling him HP.It's driving him nuts.

persephonesnape · 18/07/2007 10:22

thank you for very kind comments on that picture, I do sell a lot of pics and keep a few back for enjoyment. I find it a lot easier to draw women than men, so my mauraudererers might be a little effeminate. ;) I do accept commissions - and I'll definitely be knocking out some more HP themed pics in the next few weeks as I will be totally emersed and thinking of noting else!

snape spider animagus theory - love this - very involved. :D

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 18/07/2007 10:49

Damn Psnape I can't get into your picture - apparently work classify it as 'nudity'. Crikey that Snape/spider essay is very very serious. BTW according to the web the HP book is a fake written by a fan.

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 18/07/2007 10:58

Love the bit where the author says 'read on in amazement as I reveal the mystery behind snape's greasy hair'!

PhoenixSongbird · 18/07/2007 11:03

Psnape ? I?d like to see your representation of Harry, Hermy and Ron, from how they?re described in the book, rather than the film versions! Loved the Black sisters (I thought you meant black sisters at first, I was racking my brains thinking, well, the Patils are Indian, not black . Should be EejitSongbird!), and I loved Cissy?s do ? I wish my hair was long enough to do that!

"harry is a wanker
he masturabtas all ngiht"

Why does everyone worship Cod again?

OP posts:
FoghornLeghorn · 18/07/2007 11:22

Phoenix - they don't worship her, they are having a laugh because they don't 'get' what it is about HP.
I personally love it - went to see film last night and cannot wait for book on Sat

BandofMuggles · 18/07/2007 11:23

People don't worship her, do they??

She leapt on me the first time I posted with so much spouty BS so I pretty much ignore her.

I'm not even bothering with her thread, to hate something just because it's popular is ridiculous

BandofMuggles · 18/07/2007 11:23

Am going to see th film tomorrow. Very excited about the book, but really don't want it spoilt.

singingmum · 18/07/2007 11:25

Must admit,I don't get cod. Can't understand half of the tosh she seems to post.Does anyone?

singingmum · 18/07/2007 11:26

My dd's gryiffindor robe for fri/sat just arrived. She's v.happy as she didn't know we'd got one for her.Wasn't sure it would arrive in time

BandofMuggles · 18/07/2007 11:29

I can't actually understand most of what she writes, but as I don't really care it doesn't bother me.
Anyway enough, she seems to have a 6th sense when people are talking about her and I don't want her to come on here.

PhoenixSongbird · 18/07/2007 11:42

Mmnn, that?s a good point! She does seem to be the Queen Bee on mumsnet, though, and has her loyal band of sycophantic followers. BUT (before anyone jumps on me) she is quite funny and I do occasionally find myself agreeing with her! She?ll be here soon, someone will tell her we?re talking about her ? sorry everyone!

So let's stop

I was in Asda earlier and saw the big posters advertising the book. I was working out just how dh would be if I snuck out on Friday night to buy a copy at midnight. But then I took control of myself. I will be strong and wait until it arrives on Saturday in the post. The trouble is, I probably won't have time to read it until the evening and even then dh is saying we can have a bbq and I always feel guilty when he suggests doing something nice and I want to sit inside and read/watch tv. We'll see.

Are you doing a Marauders one PSnape??

Like your addition to the story BOM.

PhilosophersSecretChamberpot · 18/07/2007 12:05

Isn't the jacket illustration on the new book total total crap. Even my DCs want to buy the adult edition, so as not to have to look at it.

LazyLineLegilimens · 18/07/2007 12:05

kneazle, AR is 61!

PhilosophersSecretChamberpot · 18/07/2007 12:08

link to crappy cover

kneazlechick · 18/07/2007 12:12

Totally agree - cover is rubbish this time!! The American version has a better cover. I haven't seen the adult one, but I've got the children's one on order to match the others!

lazyline can't add up

persephonesnape · 18/07/2007 12:40

i started a tiny little harry hermione and ron, but am nowhere near finishing it (hermiones hair is incredibly bushy though...) - and of course painting will STOP on saturday for a while - I can assure you, Albus, that Bella, Cissie and Andie are not naked!

now toying with the idea of getting the slytherin locket tattooed on my wrist on saturday, instead of the butterflies. I will be sitting there in my new hat though (came today, lovely velvety witches hat, shall sport it whilst reading! and whilst trundling around the tattoo convention )

kneazlechick · 18/07/2007 12:59

Just had a horrible thought ... What if my dd doesn't like Harry Potter?????????

She is only 16mo and by the time she is old enough to appreciate the stories, what if some new phenomenon has come along?????
