I think Snape is a good guy too but I'm just unsure HOW.....still, soon find out

kneazlechick · 17/07/2007 22:15

I really hope that he is as, if not that would make Dumbledore wrong and I just don't think he would be.

I just remembered - a friend of ours came in earlier saying that Harry's dead. It took me a moment to realise what he was going on about - he often talks about people we don't know - and when I did I told him not to believe the rubbish he hears, the book isn't out til Saturday ... I so hope it's all bollocks. I don't really mind what happens in the book, as long as it is as well written as the others.

rosmerta · 17/07/2007 22:33

DOn't worry Kneazle, dh keeps teasing me saying Harry's going to die, I'm certain its not true!

Love that picture PSnape, and also think that Snape is really on the good side but will sacrifice himself for Harry!

rosmerta · 17/07/2007 22:34

lol if it is our book on the internet!

janeitebus · 17/07/2007 22:34

Interesting idea about Slughorne being a spider animagus.

I had another thought too. In "HBP" Dumbledore tells the Dursleys that he wants them to allow Harry back one more time before his 17th birthday, in order to continue to gain the protection that having "a home" offers him. Well then - how about if Privet Drive gets attacked and Dudley and Vernon die. 2 major characters killed and all the ones we care about (even Snape) still alive!!!! Am I clutching at straws here?

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 17/07/2007 22:37

Mmm....I don't think the Dursleys will get it....do think that the clock of Mrs Weasleys will come into play....poss one of the Weasleys will snuff it...remember Ron making a sacrifice in the chess game in book one...well, maybe he's making the ultimate one in the last book....

rosmerta · 17/07/2007 22:38

I think if any of the Weasleys die, it's going to be Percy

rosmerta · 17/07/2007 22:41

Btw, just found this on BBC about book supposedly being on the internet:

"With fewer than four days to go, pictures of what appeared to be pages from the new novel have been circulating on the internet.

Minna Fry told the BBC: "There have been so many fake books going up on the internet over the past four to six weeks. We have no reason to believe that these are anything other than fake either." "

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 17/07/2007 22:42

I'm so intrigued....do you think I'll be ok to just pop into Tesco's early and not pre-order it???

janeitebus · 17/07/2007 22:44

Yes I think Percy will be the dead Weasley too, if a Weasley is going to die. I said on another of these threads somewhere I think that he'll have an emotional reunion with Molly before he dies. And yes - the clock could well be important.

TransfiguratingLily · 18/07/2007 08:31

Rereading HBP and I'm feeling sorry for Voldemort and his poor mother. I wonder will having Harry's blood in him mean he may eventually soften and discover the meaning of love before he dies???

Slughorn as a spider animagus is a good idea.

kneazlechick · 18/07/2007 08:37

I felt sorry for Merope too, Lily. But then I remembered that Voldemort has his grandfather's blood in him too, and his father wasn't exactly the most plesant person ever!

Don't animagi have to be registered? If someone is found to be an un-registered animagus they get in trouble with the ministry - that's what Herminoe is holding over Rita Skeeter. So ... if Slughorn, or Snape, is a registered animagus then Dumbledore would know, and if they were un-registered, that would be interesting when they are found out!

BandofMuggles · 18/07/2007 08:40

PSnape, I am so impressed, do one of Snape, and James and the lads.
OMG I would buy one of those, do you sell them or are they for your enjoyment only.

BandofMuggles · 18/07/2007 08:42

snape not an animagus, hermione would have found that significant enough t o mention when she looked at the register, unless of course he is unregistered.

kneazlechick · 18/07/2007 08:55

But if Snape was an unregistered animagus, wouldn't he have exploited it by now? He wouldn't have needed to be a double-agent as he would have been able to spy on whichever side without being found out.

I think that, if anyone is an animagus, registered or otherwise, it's Slughorn. Hermione might have seen his name on the register but that was before he became their teacher.

TransfiguratingLily · 18/07/2007 08:59

Persophone, I love the picture!

MrsWeasley · 18/07/2007 09:11

excellent picture.

if slughorn is an animagus why was he pretening to be a sofa whnen DD and Harry went to visit him. Surely he would just hide as a spider?

I was hopefully thinking on a similar line to janeitebus: the two main characters to die are......

hedwig and crookshanks and the "bloodbath" means buckbeak eats then and Pig and then chokes on a hairball! Although I would be devastated if hedwig dies

kneazlechick · 18/07/2007 09:16

Ah, good point MrsWeasley. I suppose that scuppers that idea!

I think it's not a good idea to get our hopes up that we're not going to see someone 'good' die We need to prepare ourselves.

TransfiguratingLily · 18/07/2007 09:17

Oh yeah, slughorn is a furnitumagus.

BandofMuggles · 18/07/2007 09:18

LOL at furniturmagus

TransfiguratingLily · 18/07/2007 09:20

essentials

PhilosophersSecretChamberpot · 18/07/2007 09:24

Somebody tell me, why did Harry's parents have so much money to leave to him? James was nasty to Snape as a youth, and got money through loyalty to dark side? James is a baddie and Snape clearly a goodie I think?

PhilosophersSecretChamberpot · 18/07/2007 09:25

I don't mean he got yhr money because of nastiness to snape. I just mean that the nastiness plus the wealth are evidence of evil.

TransfiguratingLily · 18/07/2007 09:31

James was definately a mean bully in those memories, but his friends were not on the dark side. Alot of the characters are not clearcut...

BandofMuggles · 18/07/2007 09:37

App you find out how he got the money in book 7. I don't think he was that bad, they were 16 after all.
