Bought Dark Materials and the Sally Lockhart series on audio CD to recap as I drive my DS to sleep!!

Oooh your name I might need a new name Pullman related! I just finished rereading them end of last week, still fresh in my mind

I finished Shadow in the North today and got a horrible lump at the end!

I find I almost dread reading both of these series as I love the characters so much and I know they are all going to go through some awful things before the end

I'm so excited. Got it pre ordered on Audible ready to listen to while I work tomorrow.

QOFE I bet it's amazing in audio book - who is reading it? Mine is hardback I loved the series so much, I was 11 when it came out, Lyra was born the same year as me so I felt a real connection iykwim. I read the two little shorts, the main character from TBoD is in Lyra's Oxford, an older version though obviously.

I remember finishing Amber Spyglass in physics the morning after it was released.

Ds1 is excited too but I won't let him read it yet as he's not finished the Amber Spyglass yet. Clearly this has nothing to do with me wanting to go first.

Michael Sheen apparently? Not sure who that is. Could've sworn the Northern Lights trilogy were read by Pullman himself but maybe I've got that wrong. It's been ages since I listened to them!

It is wonderful. I'm eagerly reading but I don't want it to end.

QOFE, Pullman did read the original trilogy himself.

Fortunately storm Brian is going to provide ample reading time this weekend.

I'm 80% through.

There's been one moment that jarred with the previous books, and it's a LOT darker than the other books, but I'm really liking it.
